I finally took the time to read over the FAQ page on here and I'm wondering about a few things...

1) I read the part about using HTML or UBB Code. It says "You may be able to use HTML and/or UBB Code in your posts, if your administrators and moderators have those options turned on for each forum." Since I'm a moderator for the UVA board how do I change these or other board settings. I haven't been able to figure that one out.

2) What is the "popularity percentage" and where do I find it?

We have overridden the ability to turn on HTML for any forum, so you wont find that setting.

This is for security reasons.

Popularity is counted each time some one votes, but is not an administerable feature.

Are there any other board settings that moderators are able to change (besides editing/moving/closing topics)?

I've actually wondered for a while what extra capabilities we had over everyone else besides the title "moderator"

Mods should be able to edit/delete the threads of others (as well as there own of course) & look up the IP addresses of posters.

If these functionalities have not been available to you, then, please let me know and we will try to determine what is wrong.

In general Mods are official members of the accbbs staff, whose job it is to help develop the forums popularity and enforce the laws of the land (of which there are few... no PPPP, no nudity, no ugly hate, no images of violence or gore [and yes.. this includes Al and most especially Tipper Gore]). Another role of the mod is to help direct the direction of discussion during periods of lull in user postings.

All mods should be on the accbbs staff moderator email list. If you are not, then please email me your boardname, your forum, your first and last name, and your email address.

and the saga continues.... Mr TP goes on with his lesson only to be interrupted by a commotion in the back of the room, followed by a loud thump, and laughter.... "What is going on back there?" Mr. TP questions (too afraid AND irritated to look)... "TERPY made fun of my question and said it was really cheesy, Mr.TP, and then he started laughing at me!!!"
"AND???" questions Mr. TP obviously very annoyed....
"And so I threw my language book at him.... BUT HE STARTED IT, Mr. TP!!!!"

"Where is the detention??? asks Terpy as he shoots a death stare in Stacie's direction....
"The ACC Boards! The Sports Bar Chat Room!!!" responds Mr. TP thankful that the bus bell is getting ready to ring!!!

i'll be ready for detention after I play ball after work. sadly i can't get into the chat from here (one of these days i'll get around to checking if its the firewall or my IE settings).

Stacie, you should actually start a "Story" thread. Make the first post and then let someone else do the next chapter or couple of lines. And each person can continue it....
