That's right...my alma mater, Tri-Cities High School, upset perennial Georgia power Southwest DeKalb 35-21 tonight and improved to 6-0 for the first time in the school's 18 year history (in fact, it's the first time we've had more than 5 wins in a season since '93 ). We had been 0-14 all-time against SWD before this win, and we're in position to be ranked for the first time ever. If you can't already tell, football has never been our sport. This is a team that was 12-27 over the last 4 seasons. I never thought I'd say this, but
how 'bout them Dawgs!

Tri-Cities' 35-21 win over visiting Southwest DeKalb on Friday in a Region 7- AAAAA contest snapped a 14-game losing streak against the Panthers. It was the Bulldogs' first win in a series that dates to 1988, the first year Tri-Cities opened.
A 54-yard touchdown pass from Kchris Clark to
Travis Terrell gave the Bulldogs the go-ahead touchdown, and Tristan Davis returned an interception to seal the win to improve to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the region.
"We are there," Tri-Cities first-year coach Robert Dendy said. "We fought back in this game. We have never been behind before this season. We had our big-money players come through when it was time."
Next week, Tri-Cities travels to DeKalb Memorial Stadium to take on No. 5 Stephenson.
But this win was special for the Bulldogs since Southwest DeKalb refused to exchange game film with Tri-Cities this week.
"This feels so good to whip his you-know-what," Dendy said. "He didn't exchange film with us, and then after the game, he wouldn't shake my hand. I guess he'll have to get his victory No. 196 somewhere else."
After punting on its first two possessions of the second half, Tri-Cities started to gain some momentum after trailing 21-7 with 6:17 remaining in the third quarter.
On its first possession of the second half, Southwest running back Gary Green capped a nine-play drive with a 5-yard touchdown run to give the Panthers the two- touchdown lead.
Tri-Cities then scored on its next three possessions to take a 28-21 lead with 2:45 remaining.
"Our line was coming through with the blocks," Clark said. "When we got down, I always had the faith. We have some good ball players over here."
Southwest took a 14-7 lead into halftime after scoring on two of its four first-half possessions. The Panthers had a chance to increase the score just before the half, but Micah Strieff missed wide left on a 42-yard field goal attempt at the buzzer.
Tri-Cities was limited to three possessions in the first half as the Bulldogs could muster only 109 yards of offense, 62 coming on the ground. Southwest had 130 yards of offense as it alternated between Tre Rutland and Eric Ward at quarterback.
"We've got some things we need to work on, but we are there," Dendy said.
