Last summer I mentioned on other boards that I was gonna organize a celebration for my town's 250th anniversary (We date this from a land grant issued in 1752). I made up a committee and we got to brainstorming and now it looks like it's going to happen.

The town is Clarksburg, MD, about midway between Rockville and Frederick.

We're gonna shut down Rte 355 for a parade, gonna have food, re-enactors, music, kids stuff all sorts of things. Historic walk, DAR rededication, big church bazaar, politicians, firetrucks, you name it!

Looks like fund raising is going great, getting the logistics worked out (permits, insurance, parking, cleanup, crowd management, etc...) and rolling along... All you Montgomery County & Frederick County folks--circle October 19--a Saturday. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="smile.gif" />

Absolutely anyone can come!

Pooh--you're thinking about Clarksville which is inteed in Howard County. Clarksburg is in Montgomery County along I-270 just south of the Frederick County line.
