Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in
most schools anymore because the word "God" is mentioned ... a kid in
Arizona wrote the following NEW School Prayer ..
>
> Now I sit me down in school
> Where praying is against the rule
> For this great nation under God
> Finds mention of Him very odd.
>
> If Scripture now the class recites,
> It violates the Bill of Rights.
> And anytime my head I bow
> Becomes a Federal matter now.
>
> Our hair can be purple, orange, or green,
> That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
> The law is specific, the law is precise.
> Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
>
> For praying in a public hall
> Might offend someone with no faith at all.
> In silence alone we must meditate,
> God's name is prohibited by the state.
>
> We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
> And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
> They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
> To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
>
> We can elect a pregnant Senior queen,
> And the 'unwed daddy', our Senior King.
> It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
> We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.
>
> We can get our condoms and birth controls,
> Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
> But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
> No word of God must reach this crowd.
>
> It's scary here I must confess,
> When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
> So Lord, this silent plea I make:
> Should I be shot; my soul please take! Amen!
>

Funny you should say that quote, because I know some atheists that have faced rapture in a foxhole, and did not go begging for mercy. I do not expect myself to do it either.

As for the "getting a busy", that won't be a problem. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" />

I would just love for you people to walk in the shoes of a Jew/Muslim/Atheist/Buddhist/Hindu for one day.

By the way, guns are outlawed in schools. Would you like it any other way?

And unless something's changed, you aren't allowed to cuss in school, nor are you allowed to study "witchcraft, vampires and totem poles."

In this country if you aren't a Christian your religion doesn't matter.

Who is the religous right???? Not me. I just want the same freedoms afforded others. Dont tell me what I cannot say. I am not telling you what to say. If you dont want to say the word God, then dont. But dont tell me I cannot say it. And by the way, I have not seen anyone say that another Religion does not matter.

Rick, the agenda for conservative Christians most certainly does not afford other religions the same respect that they demand of their own Christian views.

p5,

You say that as if you have to fight for your beliefs every day. You are not oppressed regardless of which of those you are.

I know you didn't. But, you did make it sound that way by saying " I would love for you people to walk in the shoes..." You just sounded like some kind of martyr.
My point was, I don't think any of those groups have it bad in this country. And, if you're an atheist it shouldn't concern you at all because you don't believe in any of these. It shouldn't be tough to be an atheist at all.

p5,

If you are implying that America does a disservice to Religious minorities, you are crazy.

You could live in Afghanistan, where they imprison you for teaching Christianity.
