Tell the truth.. if you think it's funny.. admit it. I did not personally, but I'm accepting of other's senses of humor.. so.. your thoughts??
Joan Rivers Jokes About 9/11 Victims
Controversial comedienne Joan Rivers has stunned British audiences by mocking the relatives of firefighters killed in the September 11 terrorist attacks. Rivers recently unveiled her new stand-up show Broke And Alone In London, but the British audience were left stunned when the American made fun of widows, whose firefighting husbands were killed in the attacks on New York and Washington DC. An audience member says, "She said that they got paid $5 million each, and how disappointed they'd be if they were told, after all, that their husbands had been found alive." Despite the controversy, Joan's spokesman insists that she, boldly, plans to continue to use the joke when she takes her show to America later this year.

Someone once said any PR is good PR.
Not a funny joke. However, 9/11 has been satirized by some pretty good folks. The onion boldly satirized it the next week & actually pulled it off. Joan Rivers ain't the onion tho.

I think it takes a while for folks to get desensitized. When I first read it.. I was kinda ticked at her.. then I realized that I've laughed a few Challenger jokes, John Denver jokes, etc.

I don't find jokes about 9/11 funny at all.
I would be VERY surprised if Rivers was affected by it directly (ie a close one dying). What an insensitive person.

As someone who witnessed this from NYC and knew some people who did perish, I will say this; Sometimes laughter can be theraputic. I would agree that it would be tough to make me laugh about the victims. However, the onion's take on 9/11 made me laugh at a time when I needed to laugh. I can't see anything wrong with that.

Though not a fan of Joan Rivers at all.. her voice is like nails on a chalk board to me.. she has seen her fair share of tragedy. She came home one evening to find her husband, who she absolutely adored, with a self-inflicted fatal bullet wound to the head. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />
