They equated buying drugs with funding terrorism.

Funny how ever since the niece of a certain commander in chief, also the daughter of the governor of Florida, found her ass in drug rehab I haven't seen any more of those ads.

Of course it's not the reason why. In fact, I hear one of the commercials aired last night during MNF.

There is a deeper point here. It's kinda like the plot in Traffic where the daughter of the drug czar becomes addicted to crack.

My main beef, and one I wouldn't be surprised if you agreed with, is the following:

Jeb Bush has a track record of cutting funding for publicly funded drug treatment facilities. That in itself is not suprosing because the Republican agenda focuses partially on the stamping out of state sponsored programs. The problem I have is that Jeb's daughter is most likely holed up in an expensive private treatment facility that wouldn't be an option for probably 90% of the drug users out there. Basically only the rich can get treatment in his state. He has opposed funding increases for treatment facilities.

He also opposed legislation that would send non-violent drug offenders to treatment instead of jail. I wonder how he feels about that issue now?

I saw the commercial It is one of the few things I want to remember from last nights game.

They just made new ones and it took some time to get them back on air...

It was a very powerful spot as well...

Sad to think how true it is....

I dont know why he opposes sending non violent drug offenders to rehab, but I am sure he has his reasons. I would have to see the track record of these programs to form an opinion. What are the recidivism rates of these rehab programs. (btw I did a spell check on recidivism and I spelled it right, aint that some #$^@)I am not so sure sending them to jail is a great idea, as I really dont think jail does anything but slow the process. If anything, it screws the person up even more. Maybe give them a chance at rehab and if they screw up again, send them to meet bubba in their cell.
Sure, the rich do have advantages over those without as much money, but that is just the way it is. I would think there are many folks in this world who think you are rich. Are you willing to give up whatever privilidges you have because of your income to help those with less? I know I help, and I would think you do as well, but there are limits.
