I don't really like the choices.
I'd vote for...
"well, it means better economy for the state, but it just sets people up for ruining their lives"
Either way, I can deal.

I'm with Nate sort of. I read that even though Virginia and SC are "raking in the $$$" from their lotteries that the stress on the funding of their Social Services departments has gone up exponentially!
Granted-pollsters and special interest groups can wrangle the numbers to fit their own viewpoints.
I just don't believe we(NC) are "losing millions" to the neighboring states' lotteries. I am totally against a lottery here.
What sort of example are we giving our kids if we establish legal gambling in the name of education? Am I the only one that sees a twisted irony here?

I could care less about what happens in NC ( <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> ) but I have no problems with the lottery it raises money for the state and nobody has to buy a ticket, I see it as a win win situation, I just wish they would legalize other kinds of gambling in Maryland because everyone is leaving the Maryland race tracks to go to Delaware where they can play the slots.
