I have to have a topic picked out for a psychology paper by the 16th. It can be on anything and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what I could write about.

I need some suggestions so feel free to help me out!

My topic would be: "Speech Development: Operant Conditioning as outlined by B.F. Skinner, or Innate as outlined by Chomsky."

Good lord...I don't do AP either.

It doesn't have to be that complicated. Something like dream interpretation. I need something that I can find a lot of information on. I would do dreams but a lot of people are already doing that.

Freud. Something about Freud.

He seemed to be quite a perverted person... he explains almost everything in terms of sexual aggression, tension, desire, and fetishes.

He did some stuff on memory... behavior... just a dabble in everything basically.

I'm thinking something sports related. Like sports psychology. What was that dude's name that created a lot of controversy when he would look at athlete's brains and could tell things about them? I think they did a story on him on SC...I just can't remember his name.

A girl I went to highschool with got lit up on cocaine before every basketball game. She was a state allstar every year she played. Then she dropped out of college and forfeited her bball scholarship because it got in the way of her meth habit. Gotta keep your priorities aligned, you know.

Oh yeah, I forgot to throw in a topic for you. How about something to do with overenthusiastic spectators. Like the parents that go Robert Duvall (in the Apostle) on other parents. There has to be something psychology related in that somewhere along the lines.

there was study taking place 15 years ago when i was in college...

they believed at the time that schizophrenics do not have REM cycles in their sleep.. or they have interrupted/disjointed REM cycles. so they were doing a study that suggested that their schizophrenia was brought on by 'dream cycles' in the brain while wake, since it's a proven fact that while your body cannot recover lost sleep, it will attempt to recover lost REM sleep.

you could look into this one and see what they found out about it.

as for serial killers, i do believe they found evidence that all modern-day mass killers have lacked a certain chemical in their brain and they were doing a study as to whether this was related to their behavior. again, don't remember the outcome, but i remember the dude on the tower in texas and the mcdonald's guy were both examples cited.

I can't help you too much with a Psych thesis (well...unless you want to discuss the extreme insanity of taking a statistics of psych course during a summer quarter...but I digress... )...but if you ever need help with an english topic, feel free to give me a holler!

How about the abnormal psychology of a internet sports message board? You've got obsessive / compulsive behavior (all of us, but especially those that keep track of their post counts so avidly), schizophrenia (alias names and parody posters), and no telling how many other disorders.
