RE: Future of Big East Football?
If a split ain't the answer (although I think it is), then why don't we just add one full member: 17 teams, 16 games, everyone plays once, no unbalanced schedule BS, eight football games, done deal.
Bring in Memphis.

RE: Future of Big East Football?
Here is some data that wont go unnoticed by ALL involved in future Big East discussions.
Looking at the past six years of AP basketball top 25 going into NCAA tourney. Thats 150 ranked positions.
The 119 div 1A football members received 127 spots
The 216 non div1A football members received 23 spots. Of those 8 are from BE schools
The 66 BCS football members received 116
The 53 non BCS FB members received 11 spots- Memphis got 4
So you can see that having 1A football helps in basketbal and the BE nonfootball schools are benefitting from the football BCS tag that it gives the Big East

We are in total agreement with that. I am also in favor of the split.

Put another way, being in certain conferences helps in basketball, not their football subdivision. Plenty of I-A schools havent been within radar of the Top 25.

He meant “BCS “label not just division 1-A, but the BE 1A and BCS is one in the same.

Because ESPN, CBS, and the Big East want to see the BEST play the BEST in the Big East more than once....so they can have more attractive national broadcasts.
Better games mean better ratings which means higher contracts, especially for Hoops.

Which is exactly why the Big East has to consider a split down the road. 16 teams in basketball is way to much.

RE: Future of Big East Football?
Keep it simple. Kick out the non-football schools and add Memphis.
Cincinnati
Connecticut
Louisville
Memphis
Pittsburgh
Rutgers
South Florida
Syracuse
West Virginia
16 conference games in basketball with 8 conference games in football.
That's one heck of an all-sports conference.

The last responder from memphis.By the way the real world of the BE is real strange to quite a number of posters here. They believe ,they are great sports managers ready to lead the BE.
