Saddam was not 'secular' unless its possible to be secular and still support/train and work with terrorist groups including Bin Laden/AQ.

Saddam Hussein was secular. Osama bin Laden hated him and called him an "infidel."

you wish, they were allyed and worked with each other. From Senate Record and from a pre-9/11 Iraqi Newspaper
from the Senate Record on Sept. 12, 2002: Senator Fritz Hollins connects 9/11 to Iraq
he enters into Senate record an Iraqi newspaper editorial(state run of course) from July 21, 2001 basically predicting 9/11 and praising Bin Laden....
also, look at what CNN reported in 1999....
http://edition.cnn.com/WORLD/meast/9902/....binladen/Quote:Saddam Hussein offered asylum
Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has offered asylum to bin Laden, who openly supports Iraq against the Western powers.
imagine that......and the media that gives 9 to 1 to Democrats use to report things like this, but since this was politicized choose not to dig it back up and be real journalist.[/quote]
