Huge game coming up sat w/ Mary/Clemson.

Clemson may just be the real deal this year. Although their OOC schedule is somewhat soft, they do have wins over mid-level BCS teams Miss St, S. Carolina, and Georgia. 3-0 in conference now with road wins over Fla St and NC St...these next two against Maryland and UNC will tell the tale. Especially UNC at home.

No, more of a BE fan. I just get tired of seeing nothing but Duke and UNC on ACC Wednesday. I generally root for whoever they're playing.

Clemson's a small school though. I wouldn't mind seeing them displace those two this year.

Although I will be rooting for Georgia Tech over UConn in a few weeks...even though it's a conference game. I hate UConn.

Duke has serious problems this year, I really cant see them finishing top two in the league, really a pretty similar situation to UConn. UNC however is the real deal, they are going to win the ACC easily this season. Clemson, Im just not so sure about, they really havent played anyone so far this season. The ACC is definitely down this year, I have hard time believing they could be the second best team in the league but at this point anything is possible. They showed a stat during last nights Duke game about the success of the last team to go unbeaten in college hoops, those teams went far in the tournament, which is good news for Clemson.

Heck, right now UVA is probably the second best team in the ACC. Maryland is looking at 0-3 in the league if they cant beat Clemson this weekend. :(

You're probably right about UNC. But if you look closely, UNC's schedule hasn't been that tough. They lost to a weak Gonzaga. They beat Ohio State in a high scoring game before Oden started playing. And beat a Tennessee that lost to Butler and Vanderbilt. Butler has played great, but lived up to their mid-major status losing to UIC tonight. And how good is Kentucky this year?

Clemson will likely lose to UNC. They always do. But maybe this is the year...

Except for UNC, it looks like the ACC is up for grabs this year. After beating Florida, I'm surprised Fla St didn't start stronger in conference.

FSU has had some talent over the past several years, they play big against big time opponents but struggle to get up for the lesser conference opponents. That is a coaching issue if you ask me.

True, but those prior big wins were generally against conference foe Duke. Much to be said about the familiarity of a conference opponent at home (twice).

This was an OOC Top 3 Florida they beat. They also beat and 11-3 Providence. Their only OOC losses were road games to Top 7s Pitt and Wisconsin.

It's tough to start 0-2, but they did so to two top tier ACC teams. One on the road. A lot of games left. Guess they can still make some noise yet.

Yeah, if you look around the "lounge" area there is NFL, NBA, MLB and a bunch of other random forums too, most of the discussion happens in he sports bar though. Im just glad to see another poster around. Ive been posting on and off on this board since it started in 2002. It was originally an ACC only board, and was pretty busy at the start, then it expanded and most of the original ACC fans left. Go figure 01-wingedeagle

Id love to see the entire board get back to where it was pre expansion.

I'm not an ACC fan terpy. But i'm a HUGE fan of college hoops and CFB and am very knowledgable on all BCS conferences. Got a chance to watch that ND game here in Chicago.

Mary started the season Top 25 and beat Illinois and Mich St early. Notre Dame surprised them to knock them out of the Top 25, but for a bad loss to Miami, they'd be right back there.

Could happen soon too as Mary is up 8 on Clemson late in the first. I'd like to see a Clemson loss here...and a Clemson win over Duke next week.

You can listen to it on Yahoo. I use this link all the time to listen to untelevised games of interest.

http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/audio

Clemson is broadcasting it. I'm surprised Mary doesn't participate...

I don't pay for it?

Anyway...Mary beats Clemson and V-Tech beats UNC. lol

As I mentioned, I had my questions about UNC. What a game though. Down 20 with about 4-5 minutes left and cut it to 3 at the final 16 secs.

I hope Clemson does the same thing to UNC.
