3. Boston College
4. Oklahoma
5. L$U
Coaches Top 5
1. THE Ohio State

Who would have ever thought you would see USF at #2?

Perhaps the most overrated #2 OF ALL TIME.

Why do you say that? They were obviously underrated to start the season and have earned a 6-0 record and should be ranked that high. What have they done this season that tells you that they should not be ranked #2?

If they sweep the Big East, then I'll be a believer.

Jury is still out on South Florida..But they have mos def done all they can to help themselves out at this point. You can't ask for much better than 6-0 at this point.

This is a stupid thing to say, just look at who they have beaten. Ill be honest I havent watched any of their games yet but anyone who can go to Auburn and win is pretty good. If their jersey said Nebraska or Miami instead of South Florida you wouldnt be saying that.

USF's run this year is proof positive that the BCS system creates haves and have nots. They, in 12 years, have gone from no football to 1aa to 1a to bcs 1a and are now reaping the reards of BCS money in year three for them in the Big East.
I really can't discount their ranking though....they are getting it done on the field.

RE: New top 25 polls are out
USF has played a tough schedule... probably the toughest of the teams in the top 10. They deserve everything they have right now. It isn't their fault that the teams above them keep losing, while they keep rolling along.
I'm not sure Ohio State is really number 1, but what can you do? Same deal, they keep on winning while the teams above them keep losing. Their best OOC win was Washington, which doesn't look like much now. 2nd best win was Purdue, who got hammered by Michigan yesterday. So are they the most overrated number 1 ever?

They lost to Colorado. USC lost to LSU. Again, how is Oklahoma ranked higher than USC?

...and who makes those rankings? The same people as the BCS? I thought you hated the BCS? Lemme guess, f'n polls are also involved, right? In that case, check out ESPN's poll today. The "Rank'em" file. .....'cause they have, or had, Illinois at #3. Sorry, I go by quality wins, and the Sooners haven't had any, aside from Texas. As for their running up of the scores, you might want to check out the teams they were running up the score on. 'Course, didn't help'em with Colorado, did it?

LOL the numbers I quoted are total offense and defense rankings, ie yards per game, 100% objective, and dont give me any crap about Oklahoma running up the score on inferior opponents, you know for a fact (or atleast you should know) Spurrier would run up the score every time if his team was capable, he was famous (or perhaps infamous) for it at Florida. Every game south carolina has played except for SC State has been relatively close, stop being such a SEC homer.

Spurrier is in a much tougher league than the Sooners this year. Sorry to burst your bubble. No, I'm not being a homer. I can't STAND Spurrier and am NOT a Gamecock fan.
BTW, Spurrier wasn't famous for running up a score at Florida. He was famous for it when he did it to UNC when he coached for Duke. AS for running up the score, I have no problem with it. Some say USF did with UCF. My opinion? They should have. They had to to be considered contenders. If they hadn't, they probably wouldn't be in the #2 slot today.
Now, back to the Sooners. They'll be beat by Texas Tech, so not to worry. USC will win out, to include Tennessee and Florida. That is my opinion as a semi-Gator fan. ...kinda have to since I'm applying there for their MBA program.
