RE: first game
I'm looking forward to seeing some of those answers also. I'm also interested in seeing how much Bishop Wheatley improved during his redshirt season as well as what the new guys can contribute. The first exhibition is next Monday so that should tell us something.

I'm hoping we can beat Hampton the following Sunday because as far as I can tell there is no TV for that game. If we can beat Hampton then I can go down to the local sports book on Monday and watch TU play Maryland on ESPNU. Those games should give us a good idea of where the team stands.

RE: first game
we better beat Hampton or our name will be mud for awhile....although there has already been a couple of big name schools(BCS) go down in exhibition games to Div II schools. Normally if you are going to beat a team like Maryland it's going to be early in the season but I'm not sure we have the firepower for that. Unless we speed the game up a little, any team we play can beat us if we hit a little bit of a dry spell. You just don't ever get a very big lead when you only score 55-60 points, so the other team is always in the game. The worse team in Div I could probably score 50-55 points against the best team on any given night so until we score in the 70's consistently at least, we're going to be in a dogfight the last five minutes of most games. Without some coaching philosophy changes, I don't see any improvement in our record in the near future!!!

RE: first game
I think you will see our scoring improve this season provided Jordan can play significant minutes. If we can get an inside scoring presence then Earls, Uzoh, and McDade can light it up from outside. I really expect to see big improvement from Uzoh, Hill and Wheatley just from the added time with the team and coaching staff. I've been seeing conference records predictions like 8-8 and 9-7 but I will be really disappointed if we do that poorly. We should expect to beat everyone except Memphis at home and we should have a shot at every road game except Memphis. I could see us losing to Memphis, UAB, Houston, and maybe UCF on the road and Memphis at home. So I would like to see us 11-5 in conference.
