Stupid is what it is. How do you fire a guy after a 7-5 season that was riddled with injuries. Dumb move by the AD to fall victim to the Lunatic Fringe.

I'm not really surprised at Chan Gailey getting the axe though he really is a better coach than a lot of folks give him credit for. The man has never had a losing season ever in either the pros or in college.

I'm surprised at Jeff Bower though. I always thought that he did a very credible job at Southern Miss.

As far as my team being ranked 13th, what a joke. This is absolutely the worst Texas team of the Mack Brown era . If we're 13th in the country, then college football is sadly lacking in good teams these days.

I wonder if many AD's do themselves a disservice. I talked with two rabid FSU fans when they played the Gators about Bowden. I asked how long it took him to get to his first winning season. They said about 8 years. Now look at'em. How many championships have they won? How many bowl games have they been to? Maybe 3 years isn't enough.

Is 3 years enough to judge Charlie Weis at ND? I hope like crazy that ND will stick it out with him, give him a REAL shot.

I also hope Illinois plays Florida in a bowl and Zook gets a little retribution.

Houston Nutt is now at Mississippi.

The Rebels/Hogs game should be interesting next year.

I think he's a good coach, and a winning coach in the SEC, but he will have to recruit well. ...and this isn't something that's necessarily the HC's job. Orgeron was a great recruiter for Miami and USC.

How long did they give Willingham? He was there three years and went 21-16 with 2 bowl games (both losses). Weis is currently at 22-15 with 2 bowl losses.

How can they justify keeping him?
