RE: DC Kravitz Fired (merged)
I don't know...and I could be way off...but I think too much is made of the Tommy wanting a guy to run his system...I think what he wants is someone who will run 4-3 scheme and have a similar philosophy...not lining up 3-3-5 to stop the run...

I think TW wants a guy who is a proven recruiter with great ties, which is what Walton is...

edit: I had this wrong, I was thinking of Tim Rose.
The DC who refused to become the head coach after Stobart was Rose. I don't remember his first name. I believe he went to some school up north after he left Memphis.

Wow. This is a bit of a shock. I hope TW does a little better job doing the interview this time around. I also hope we will have a new DC before signing day. First the excuse was JLD didn't recruit. Then we didn't even hire a DC until after signing day last year. I'm tired of hearing the recruiting excuse.

We didn't get the guy we wanted last year, so we had to scramble to find a replacement. The guy we wanted is now available, so we're making room for him. I would think we won't be waiting too long for an announcement.

While we are at it, Jerome Woods would be a great addition to the staff as an assistant/positions coach. Not like our secondary is what it once was--

I imagine there was a reason this move was made during the 'dead' period...

I would have gladly taken the job for a year instead of them going out and just grabbing somebody because they didn't get their #1 choice. I couldn't have done any worse and I would have done it for free.

At least TW waited until the season was over to give the guy the axe. Kravitz was an awful hire. This might be our worst defense ever. We might not have much talent on the defensive side of the ball, but our D's numbers were absolutely awful this year. I would think that the D could have done a much better with the right DC in place...hopefully we get Tim Walton in here and he kicks some A**. I would think that it would already be too late for Walton to recruit if he was hired...

Danton is now HC of the Manchester Wolves of the AF2. He was fired before his first season was finished at Las Vegas of the AFL. They never game him a chance there.

I, along with others, just found it odd last year that the job was open after the third game and TW didn't hire anyone until after signing day. Especially since the recruiting gripe was the main one on JLD. I hope we get Walton because I know he will do better than what we have had since TW or John Thompson.

Yep. Goodness knows we don't want to be a top offense again next year.

I don't think so...this move was made during a dead period and there are still a lot of unsigned players out there...plus a group of FL kids will be coming for a visit soon as well...and who knows, maybe there are some Miami commits who were more loyal to Walton than Shannon?

Not if he had been recruiting kids to Miami all year. Miami cant sign them all.
