POT and MOS
Mosaic is one of the few suppliers of Potash one of the main ingredients in fertilizer. A good friend of mine who was the general manager for a Quickcrete company, turned me onto the stock. The spray potassium on rock salt to melt ice on winter roads. His company paid 6 times the amount they did last year because of the scarcity of the product. Farmers are knee dip in money right now and they will spend the money on fertilizers to increase corn and soybean yields. India just signed a contract with Potash for $645 a ton. China will be looking to contract out fertilizer within the next month. Projected earnings for these two companies were based on $400 a ton for the fertilizer. It's going to be a blowout quarter for both companies. He also told me it was very hard for his company to procure salt this past winter. So salt companies may be a play next winter.
