RE: Leadership By Barak
Some of you are beyond ridiculous.

All he's saying is let's not be hypocritical about energy. If we want China and India to not continue building their economies on oil, we need to ween ourselves off our own oil addiction. Biofuels, solar, wind, geothermal, nuclear, clean coal. As a country we need to start investing in these energy sources immediately. It's possible to have a country that isn't addicted to oil, just look at Brazil.

The ludicrous leaps in "logic" some of you make are absolutely ridiculous. Quit ignoring the enormous problem at hand for the sake of partisanship.

In all due respect....The damn past and current leadership is to blame for this mess, not Obama....I couldnt give a rats ass about this socialist fool...But...All this silly BS just obscures the real problem...We have NO leadership in energy policy...from either side of the isle.

Fat cat politicans lining their pockets with our wages and graft.
We need to do a House and Senate cleaning of all these dumb*** old career politicians. About the only way one of them leaves office in scandal or death...The quicker we wise up and put short term limits on these parasites...the better.

Yeah, because, as we all know, China and India give a rat's ass about what we think.

Reminds me of that moron Carter sitting in front of the camera in a cardigan.

Since when is it government's job to get involved in the energy business? I've always wondered that, just never asked. Government can't do anything right and some of you guys, yes, I know you excluded, would just turn the keys over to your own home to them if they promised you ice cream and steak on a daily basis.

You guys do realize that conservation is part of the answer. We go over and beg the Saudi's to pump more oil but we won't try and clean our own backyard by conservation. That's what I took from it. You guys like being a lap dog?

Know what's ever more f'ed up? He figured he had a better chance with the Saudis than his own liberal congress. Do a little research, gas prices did MOST of their increasing under a Democratic congress.

and I know the standard reply of drilling our own supply. So save it. I agree with you. We should tap ANWR, but it pales in comparison to actual conservation.

It's specualtion in the market. The fundamentals are not there to support 130 dollar oil. We have went over this. WMD had some good points.

1. Market Specualtion

2. Falling Dollar

3. Instability and Sabre rattling in the Mid east.

None of this is from the D congress no matter how much you and Fox News would like to make it. That dog won't hunt!!!!

Do you realize a new piece of legislation trash just prevented us from getting a lot more oil from the Alberta Oil Sands? Why? Because it's not as clean, I.e., it may contribute to the unproven concept of global warming. So, we're f'n legislating using something that has YET to be proven.

Great. Sounds like a new welfare plan, also which is not proven to work.

For the last f'n time, I don't watch Fox News. I don't watch any news other than Robin and Co. in the morning. ...because she's hot and all and it's apolitical.

BTW, you need to relearn those fundamentals. They ARE there to support 130 dollar Oil. Demand has increased from the countries of China and India exponentially. Think it's bad now? Wait until over a billion people in India are driving Tatas instead of riding bikes.

Fox News had this whole segment blaming the Dems for gas prices. You were blaming them and so was Fox News. Hence, the phrase.

...your point? Dems are the cause of "some" of the problems with gas prices, but not all. It's more complicated than saying "this guy caused this". They are, however, the cause of us not being prepared for an increase in global demand.

I disagree,

It's a bubble. There is no shortage. We have about the same reserves as we have had the last 5 years. There was even an Iranian oil tanker off their coast without any buyers. That was in last weeks journal.

The Iraq War has caused this speculative bubble.

What do reserves have to do with it? They're untouchable unless the CinC opens them up. They're not part of the speculation process. As for the oil tanker, puhleeze, show me the link. Off their coast? Yeah, and Achmadiamnuts wouldn't lie or create something for propaganda purposes, now would he? Yeah, and Hitler was such an honorable man. You could believe anything he said, right?

I'd think they would follow our lead if we started making strides to an oil-independent economy.
