I love your passion. In this thread you have called me high, stupid, idiot and learning disabled. How about a truse?

I still say Garnett is overrated.
I still say Lakers in 5.
I still say Kobe is in a league of his own.

I'll also acknowledge that my opinions are often wrong and it could be that Kobe chokes, Celtics win in 4, and Garnett gets the MVP. That's the beauty of Sports.

you want a tr-tr-truCe (with a C, not an S: see i can do it too). No beef from me, i'm too old for that. BTW, i have no problem with someone taking the lakers in 5 (it's very possible), or saying kobe's in a league of his own. In fact i don't recall saying anything about Kobe.

As a sidenote, when i picked celtics in 5, i didn't realize the series was a 2-3-2, i thought it was 2-2-1-1-1, like the rest of the playoffs.

i also wanted to point out that in your haste to ridicule the media and their willis reed comparison, you overlooked a couple facts. Pierce did not come back in the 1st half, it was towards the end of the 3rd quarter.

But where are Magic and Bird? 03-melodramatic

You just gotta go with Magic!

FYI, as much as it pains me to say this about a Tarheel, just watch that Michael Jordan guy. He is going to be something in the coming years!

Is it? I thought the series was Boston 1 - Referees 1 - L.A. 0....

I will again re-iterate that NBA basketball sucks...

oh please, how many charges are called in college?

maybe if the lakers weren't strictly a jump shooting team, they'd draw more fouls.

I honestly have no idea how anyone can say the Kansas-Memphis game was better than NBA playoff game. I couldn't watch more than a few minutes of the NCAA championship, college basketball is just so weak. Would you watch AAA baseball over MLB? The game is just so much worse.

i wouldn't be surprised if a great college player was actually given a job like that (while getting paid 50 grand).

RE: NBA Finals... Lakers vs Celtics..
John Hollinger echoing what i and other knowledgeable basketball fans already knew:

"Boston was fouled on a missed shot 14 times, compared to just three for the Lakers. Throw those numbers into the Game 2 shot chart and it's 23 long 2s in 69 "attempts" (shots+fouls) for the Lakers, compared to 14 of 61 for the non-Garnett Celtics. Once you throw in the fouls it becomes apparent that even in Game 2, the Celtics were taking better shots.

Ah yes, the fouls.

Given the shooting-chart disparity, our wonderment at the foul disparity is no longer so puzzling, is it?

L.A. took a ton of midrange shots in Game 1, ending up with a 35-28 deficit at the free-throw line. In Game 2, as we all know, that deficit ballooned to 38-10 even though the Lakers took fewer long 2s. "

i'm curious what y'all are thinking now. One of the big biggest choke jobs in finals history.

Don't tell me you couldn't watch that game, Terpy.
