1983 NC State
Were they as bad as people made them out to be?

I saw something on blogspot while I was searching earlier:

http://sirius-about-sports.blogspot.com/

NC State was listed number 15 on that list. The author put up a link to another blog and the guy said NC State won 6 games against teams that were ranked number one during the season. Also, Whittenburg was injured for a lot of the season too.

That blew my mind because most people kinda view them as just a lucky bunch that got hot at the right time (partially true) but I don't know, it gave me a new perspective.

RE: 1983 NC State
The 1983 Wolfpack team could have very well been a top-10 outfit had Whittenburg not injured his ankle when State hosted Virginia for their first of 4 meetings.

Right before he landed on a UVa player's foot, he was lighting the Cavs up from all over the court, and the Pack was headed for a legit ROUT of the Ralph Sampson-led Cavs.
