Listening to the new Chris Cornell record
It's produced by Timbaland, so i imagine most, if not all, of you will hate it. It's not exactly geared towards the audioslave/sound garden fans.
I like it though. it's different

I've seen them pair up in those Verizon commercials.
How would you describe it?
I mean is it Timbaland hop hop beats + Chris Cornell singing? CC rapping? Timbaland producing "real rock" music for CC?
Just wondering.

finally getting back to you. sorry it took so long, i kept forgetting.
Chris is singing over timbaland production, but it isn't really hip hop beats. True, there seems to be very few live instruments, but it's mostly electronic/synth music, with interesting basslines and catchy hooks. If you're a die hard sound garden fan, you'll probably hate this, but if you're open to your favorite artists experimenting with music, you'll find this to be an interesting listen.
It flows incredibly well. There are no pauses between tracks. In fact there's not one second of dead air. There's always music playing, literally. They tried to make each song flow into the next. Chris fits really well over this music.
There's also a great hidden track at the end that sounds very much like down home, country Blues. It's really chill.
