Please...I could name a dozen "if's" from that game that would change things, but in the end, we didn't execute when we had too.

VT + Sean Glennon = Fail
WV = bwahahhahahah
Escaping just barely against Tulane
And losing to the 2nd worst team in the ACC

So ... yes.

And Skip Holtz threw away $40,000,000 for CUSA, and potential entry of ECU into a bigger conference with that one decision to not take the easy 3.

YOu are gonna argue not going for 3 would cost ECU a BCS conference invite? 01-wingedeagle

And FWIW, Tulane's defense held Alabama to like 172 yards of total offense...so they are not soft on D man.

The Big East will go to 9 teams in football. Scheduling demands it. Memphis can bank on their basketball program making them look attractive. ECU can't.

THe BE will never go to 9 teams because of the Notre Dame effect. The BE will never split to allow it do a multisport league cause those bball schools wont let it.

The math says taking the 3 points means we win the game, but football isn't a game of math.

1) Hartman was back kicking this week, and he's a little batter than the kickers we used the first three weeks, but no '3' is easy for us. Hartman isn't automatic, esepcially that close on the hash.
2) Who says, after taking the three, we stop the Wolfpack offense? We made them look like world-beathers throughout the second half. They may have just tied it up earlier rather than later.

We lost that game, and think we would've lost regardless of the call on fourth down. The fact is that if you have the ball inside the five on two consecutive drives, you have to come away with 6. We didn't, we lost. And our D didn't do us in favors by going to sleep at the end of the game.

As dumb as this sounds with this being a rivalry game, we looked like we walked in expecting to win. First two games, our guys were flying around, excited after every play. Last two weeks, I haven't seen any of that. I don't care what Holtz says, we've looked flat. Now that the media attention is all gone, I'm hoping we get back to playing football.
