My final preelection thread on Obama.
I actually gave Obama a fair shake. I liked him while he was beating Hillary, until I realized what a true joke it was. He played the race card against Bill Clinton (the first black president as many called him, the only reason I could find for that name tag is that he liked to screw fat white women).

Then more and more questions came up. Ayers, Acorn, his lack of experience. A dramatic lack of accomplishment. The most liberal voting record. Opposed the war, the surge.

Then the big question came to mind. How in the world did Obama have the arrogance to think he not only could perform in the office of presidency and also how did he believe given his record that he deserved the office?

This last question I can't answer. I'm 35, I've worked quite hard since 19 and have worked in the automotive and medical industries. I should have at least one patent to my name. I'm going to write some books. I have two masters degrees.

I honestly believe even being 12 years younger than him, I have more work experience and a better work ethic. I don't claim the arrogance to want, desire or seek the presidency. So why does this Senator with less useful work experience and who has clearly contributed less to the country than myself and many of my colleagues believe he deserves the office of presidency?

One answer and this is why Obama will win. Obama is an entertainment icon. He is lauded by the media and Hollywood. He is merely an entertainer.

And before you make Reagan comparisons, Reagan was a governor and had been involved in politics for much longer had contributed more and was much older and wiser than Obama.

So why turn over the keys to an inexperienced, arrogant, juvenile and junior senator at such an important time in this country?

It makes absolutely no sense to me. Common sense and respect for our elders has been thrown out the window.

RE: My final preelection thread on Obama.
I think there is a large contingent of voters who think that he won't govern as socialistically as his records and statements indicate...

They are, tragically, incorrect.

However, if the election goes as the polls predict--liberals will have unchecked power over this nation. Anything that happens during this span (either in foreign policy or on the domestic front) is completely their responsibility--they will have no recourse if they make big mistakes.

Nostradamus is here--my predictions for an Obama administration with Dem supermajorities in the House and Senate:

1. Say goodbye to Taiwan.
2. Which major American city will be hit next? Wouldn't it be bitter irony if it were Chicago?
3. Recession, recession, recession--the Dow will dip below 7000.
4. Gas prices will be raised back above the 3 dollar/gallon level due to an increase in federal and state taxes within 2 years.
5. The mean tax rate will go from 36% up to 42% within a year.
6. All IRA tax deductions will be rescinded. 401K's will become a distant memory. Time to stuff money in the mattress again...
7. All domestic oil production will stop--this will boost the price/gallon back above 4 dollars.
8. An attack will originate out of Syria in an attempt to wipe out either Iraq, Israel, or Saudi Arabia--the weapons will be a combination of Hussein's WMDs that were hidden in the Bacaw Valley and Russian arms shipped to Iran.
9. The Obama administration will attempt to resolve this through negotiation--these negotiations will fail.
10. Out-sourcing will outpace in-sourcing with the concomitant effect of boosting US unemployment to a minimum of 10%. This will be due, largely, to punitive taxation policy on U.S. businesses.
11. Obama will not be re-elected.
12. We will survive as a nation.
13. The Republican party will be taken over by conservatives again.

I'm just going to hide somewhere--if bears can hibernate, so can I. I will spend virtually nothing, turn off the heat and the AC, and eat as cheaply as possible (anyone want a hot dog?). 4 years isn't a long time, but it'll seem like it.

RE: My final preelection thread on Obama.
I hope you the worst case scenarios don't happen. Believe me, I'd rather the best happens and whoever is elected is wildly successful.

If Obama wins and is forced to govern as a centrist (who will force him is the question with liberal majorities), then we might. If he governs as the liberal quasi socialist we know he can be, we are in trouble.

Hopefully McCain wins. I voted for him.

You are dead on correct with regard to #8 and the results will not be pretty. I hope Subflea and his shipmates will be ready to go. We might actually have to use the firepower of the Ohio class subs for the first time ever.

This sounds like if Obama is elected we would be one step away from the Apocalypse!!! Makes one wonder why the super church christians wouldn't vote for him; they've been wanting that since they could pray.

Actually one of my colleagues at work said an African American woman voted for Bush in 2004 because she thought HE would bring on the apocalypse.

There is a certain Nostradamus like ring to his name however!

When you are already in your 60s, 4 years is a very long time. I hope these might be my sunset years, not the blackest dark before the dawn years.

Here's my prediction if Obama wins:

1. He will be assassinated in the first six months.
2. Racial riots.
3. USA in turmoil.
4. Terrorists take advantage and blow up Hollywood (if some city has to go, I hope it's where Matt Damon works)
5. Congress continues to reinvent this country into a socialist country.
6. Nancy Pelosi mistakenly says she's next in line to be president.
7. Hillary and Bill have Biden mysteriously killed.
8.........

Hey.........this makes for a good book.

RE: My final preelection thread on Obama.
Bearcat Dave, please clarify your statement about Clinton being black because he liked to screw fat white women. I am sure you meant it as a joke , however you call out Obama as a racist and say something like that?

I think we all have concerns if Obama is elected, but none of you voice concerns if McSame gets elected. If the GOP had run mcCain 8 years ago instead of the cowboy we might not be in this mess. If McSame gets elected then I will support him and pray he stays in good health throughout his presidency. If Obama gets elected maybe the GOP will finally wake up and listen to the people they claim to represent.

I dont think Obama is a racist necessarily. I think he has numerous friends and supporters who are however.

This countries racial problems will never heal completely.
