Studying abroad next semester
so as the title says i'll be studying abroad next semester and i'll be in london. Yes rick that means you'll get to read less from me, it's the best christmas present i can get you.

Anyway, i was wondering if anyone had any personal tips on traveling in the UK and europe, or any tips about places to see in the UK, etc. I'm sure there are some of you who've had cool experiences in europe and i'd like to know what they were. I really wanna do everything i possibly can and get the best experience.

London is a dirty town and it always seems to be cold and miserable.

If you can get to mainland Europe, go there. It is much better.

I recommend Paris (people are rude though), Seville, Lisbon, Brussels.

thanks for sharing, that makes me feel great. Anybody i've ever talked to about london disagrees, but ok.

I agree about Paris. i've been there before and the people were rude, unlike in Italy where they were all helpful.

I hope the broad is hot.

Sorry... couldn't help myself.

I've never studied over there, but my sister did. She was an art history major so she studied all over europe for a summer. I'd suggest getting a train pass while over there and finding your way around to see the sites while you can for cheap!

I'll probably do basically what your sister did. There's about 4 place outside of the UK that i'd like to get to.

that's one of my top 5 places. IMO, any college student who goes to europe for a semester and has an opportunity to go to amsterdam, should go. If they don't they're a fool. The red light district just sounds too cool to pass up.

that's just what i'm majoring in. There's no music industry major, so i just chose the major that will teach me how to speak (in front of an audience) and write better, which turned out to be communications.

Sorry. Didn't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but I have been to London 5 times and it was cold and rainy everyday but 2 that I was there.

As someone else mentioned, Prague is cool (I didn't realize you were talking about going that far east). If you are going all the way to the Czech Republic you should also stop by Karlovy Vary. The whole city center is off limits to cars.

yeah, i'll definitely go as far east as prague. my dad also has a very good friend in malmo, sweden. the guy said he'd be happy to put me up for a weekend so i'll be taking advantage of that. i've always wanted to visit Scandinavia.

I also have a connection in Naples. My boss at the pizzeria i work at is from Italy and his mom, who lives there now, really likes me. She said if i visit she'll put me up.

I've been told that Brighton and Camden are the sweet spots in England. Oh and make it to the west coast of Ireland.

If you are going to Naples, stop in Sorrento. It was my favorite Italian city.
