The article is based on the assumption the Big 3 will go out of business. Doubt that would happen - Reorganize, yes. Totally dead and buried, no.

Why?

Bankruptcy is the best thing that could happen to GM. I'd be more willing to buy a GM vehicle in bankruptcy than I would right now. If they don't restructure their contracts, there is no way they will ever be viable and will eventually be sold off piece by piece.
