MTSU should seriously be at the head of the list for replacements if CUSA loses another team. They are the same size as UT and get play in the Nashville media market.

They also named the Fridge's successor before this season started, OC James Franklin.

People look at the FIU RU score and think it was close but in reality it wasn't. FIU had two late scores to pull in within 8 but they were held under 90 yards through the first 3 quarters. Meanwhile our offense played sloppy ALthough they put up about 400 yards of total offense they missed field goals had penalties in the redzone and dropped passes thatended our drives. The game was really never in doubt but still we probably should have beat them by more. Either way we have a lot of time to iron out the wrinkles against a pretty bad maryland team next week and an even worse texas southern before we get into BE play.

I would just be worried about how Savage played. But, who knows? Maybe he learned something in the process.

While MTSU is about an hour away from Nashville (it's in Cookeville, TN), I wouldn't exactly call it the Nashville market. It's smack in the middle of Volunteer country. So is Nashville, for that matter. Vandy may be located in Nashville. But most football fans in the area root for Tennessee (either the Vols or Titans)...

Exactly that's the whole reason he's starting now and not next year let him make his rookie mistakes now and learn.

MTSU is in Murfreesboro, TN which is 30-35 mins from Nashville. You are thinking about Tenn. Tech U., which is a I-AA school.

You're right. I always get those 2 confused. But that doesn't change the validity of my statement about the marketabilty of MTSU...
