I was very wrong about the Bearcats in FB
Three or four years ago I predicted misery for UC in Big East football. I was proven wrong last year and this year is simply further proof that last year was no anomaly.

Thanks. Kind of helps when you make an extraordinary coaching hire.

I feel very fortunate that we have Brian Kelly.

The Bearcats record since 2006 is 36-11. For the people who think this is a fluke run (mostly that is from some fans from "traditional powers" who think that) you are 100% wrong.

Kelly certainly has Leavitt's/USF's number...as Kelly is now 3-0 vs USF. (UC is now 4-0 vs USF in last 4 games).

Cinci is a very good team with a great coach. Daniels is a great player with limited experience, but make no mistake about it, he will make some noise in the future. Unfortunately his receivers did help him much by dropping passes and waiting on the ball rather than going to get it. They did save him some int's though.

Not just last year. UC has gone 27-6 since hiring Brian Kelly.

Perfect illustration of how important coaching is in college football.

I agree with you 100%. He showed a lot of poise in different situations last night and he is definitely dangerous on the ground. Give him some time to work out the kinks and gain more confidence and he'll put on a show. I have a feeling these next 2-3 years are going to be very interesting between UC and USF. Collaros vs Daniels is going to be fun to watch in the years to come.

Funny thing is I wouldn't bet on Collaros being the starter next year.

If its bad news regarding Pike today with Dr. Collisimo, sure is nice to have an extra couple of days to get Zach ready to roll on Homecoming against UL a week from tomorrow.

It's a bad time to lose your starting QB, right in the middle of the conference race. You'd hate to see that cost y'all a championship...

Didn't hurt UC that much last year...they went through what, like 3-4 QBs during the season?

RE: I was very wrong about the Bearcats in FB
I remember back in 1975 when Cincinatti beat Memphis for the first time in 12 tries that our coach was so upset that he actually vomitted. We had beaten #7 Auburn the week before and got a dose of our own upset medicine, I suppose. I also remember when (during that same period) Memphis beat Cincinnatti for the first time in basketball - it was big deal for us. How things change.

RE: I was very wrong about the Bearcats in FB
True. But depending on a running QB in BEast play is kind of iffy. There are a lot of good run defenses in the conference. Just consider WVU. The Mountaineers have allowed only 2 runners to gain 100 yards, and that's EXACTLY 100 yards. Nobody has run for more than 100 yards against WVU, and very few teams have exceeded that total against WVU's run D. The Mountaineers have played some very good running teams too. For example, Auburn is #4 in the nation in rushing, and they gained EXACTLY 100 yards against the Mountaineers...

Also a pretty good illustration of what BCS inclusion can do for an urban university which never had an even playing field before. The sudden infusion of prestige and money did, and can, do wonders. For one thing, without the BCS label would Cincinatti have that coach now?

Dantonio and BK would have never coached at UC if they were in CUSA.

3-0. Dantonio beat them in 2006. Kelly was hired after that regular season. He has wins in 2007, 2008, 2009.
