Hope you are right. I believe everyone has their fingers crossed for a dry winter. Funding is secured for this, and as one poster alluded to, it is a scaled down version of the original plan, due mostly to the economic climate.

In state rivals NCSU and UNC will easily help fill the 50k stadium when complete...as we've done it before with temporary bleachers, but getting 50k there for CUSA West teams will be a little more difficult. No one is denying that. A sell out (43,000+) vs. lowly Rice last weekend was very encouraging.

A steady diet of conference members from say the Big East would help get you to 50k LOL

Absolutely! 04-cheers

I remember "back in the day" (80's-90's) before we could convince NCSU and UNC to come to Greenville, games with Syracuse were VERY well attended...not as much by traveling legions of Cuse fans, but locals who just wanted to see a big name come to the stadium. Pitt's one trip to Greenville was a huge crowd back in the early 90's. WVU always draws (and brings) a full stadium. So yeah, that would help immensely.

But still, thanks to a strong fan base and a smart AD, we're able to average 43K in spite of a less than ideal conference situation, and more importantly, we're able to bring in great teams on a home and home basis year in and year out. Future home games with VT, South Carolina, UNC, NCSU, Navy, & UVA will help keep the stadium full and season tickets selling no matter what conference we are in.

I bet some of the cough..."older" fans would love to play Cuse and Pitt again.
