Not really that surprising coming from Hitchens who did write "God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything", which is an excellent book BTW.

Hitchens has been a hawk as far as terrorism goes and like him or hate him, he's a very very bright articulate writer. He's dead right on this, facts are facts. For every christian nut that bombs an abortion clinic there are vast greater numbers of muslim fundamentalist jihadists blowing people up. Some muslims are confronting this reality and starting to speak out against this ugly stain on their religion. We've become so PC in this country that nobody wanted to point out the fanatical army doctor who talked jihad, signed his cards Solider of Allah and who authorities knew was talking to a terror supporting imam because he was muslim and they were afraid of being accused of profiling.

Regardless of opponnent I would never bet against George Will.

Yet Hitchens is a unique intellectual talent and a phenom of a wordsmith. the guy can spin beautifully eloquent strings of words that bite like concertina wire.

That is a well written article. Those descriptions would likely fit for Klebold and Harris as well.

A friend of mine , an aspring writer, attended a symposium with a small group of writers some 20 or so years ago and PJ O was one of them. My friend spent a lot of time with him for a few daysand said it was the hardest he has ever laughed.

I like George Will. He doesn't get excited and he isn't full of bombast and histrionics.
