West Virginia - Ohio State Game
I know we often complain around here about how our Bearcats finish out games, but neither one of these two teams look like they want to win the game in the last few minutes.

Also, according to the brilliant CBS play-by-play announcer, Bob Huggins racked up most of those wins of his while coaching at Connecticut.

Don't forget the complaint that we are the only team in college basketball that doesn't play hard for 40 minutes. WVU's first half and OSU's second half were some of the worst basketball I've seen all year.

When mick becomes one the winning est active coaches or start bringing in top recruiting classes almost every year, we'll let him slide a bit

Good win for the Big East. Early on in the season some of the national guys were calling the Big 10 the best conference in BB this year, that should help bring their opinions down a bit. Looks even better since "Mr Everything" Evan Turner was healthy for this one.

Whats the record in the Big East v Big 10 matchups this year so far?

To be fair, the recruiting here was pretty dismal after Cronin left for Lousyville. The only top drawer recruit we got after he left was Downey. The work for the Hicks/Moore /White /Kirkland group was largely done by Mick before he split.

does everybody realize that since you posted in this thread, catsclaw has now labeled you a Mick hater?

OT- If Griff where still here, he'd have UC ranked #1 after what UConn is doing to Texas.

2-5.

I saw that too during the game.

I know UConn lost at Michigan and WVU lost at Purdue, but do you know who had the other loses?

Marquette lost @ Wisconsin, but beat Michigan.

ND lost to Northwestern.

I remember the Marquette games now.

Completely forgot about the Pitt loss. How did they lose to a bad Indiana team?? Even Loyola beat IU.

Another nice Big East win with UConn over Texas today.

I had seen recently that the Big East had fallen just behind the Big 12 in the conference power rankings. Today should reverse that, for now.

Yeah that one was a great one for UConn and the Big East. Hopefully that'll give UConn the momentum to turn their season around.

I am glad we play them at the XL Center and not Gampel. That building makes it rough on the opposition.

Pitt did not have Jermaine Dixon and Gilbert Brown when IU beat them.

RE: West Virginia - Ohio State Game
I got banned around 2005 because I was in the camp that felt Huggs deserved being fired. And I caused alot of problems otherwise that I deserved to be banned. No argument here.

I actully miss him right now. What I miss is his determination and energy.

Mick doesn't seem to have that same intensity.

Having said that......I never felt that Huggs was a very good offensive coach. His team's defense is legendary. But Mick's teams play good defense.

I actually feel like the offensive woes of Mick's teams are the kids he recruits. If he'd recruit "shooters" maybe things would be better. He is doing the same thing that Huggs did in recruiting "athletes"........and not so much "pure shooters".

You can teach players to play defense. It's much harder to teach someone to shoot or score.

I have watched OSU several times this year when E Turner was healthy. Very impressive player. A one man wrecking machine.

I wish UC had a player like that. I'm somewhat disappointed in Lance Stephenson. He cannot shoot the 3 ball and that would be his position in the NBA, 2 guard. I do not see a player on UC's roster that is ready for the NBA.
