yes.

this thread is ridiculous. North Carolina is likely going to the NIT this year, do you think they're going to turn it down?

Sometimes I question the IQ of folks that post here.

UNC has been considering turning it down. UNC is a team full of freshman.

If we want to play in the NIT without Mack, Kemp, EW (if he's going pro), and Sallie (if he's leaving) then sure, we should play in it.

It'll give the young guys some practice for next season. What if Coleman goes down with a major ACL tear in the NIT? Was it a good idea then?

Were you also against us going to the NIT the 3 times we went with Cal here?

That would be a completely idiotic thing to do just out of being mad because we were beaten by Houston. This program is far to classy to pull a stunt like that even if the players want to. My kids are great kids and I have had to keep them from giving up on things they started (including sports) for their own good. If there were issues with the players or something maybe, but these kids have worked their butts off this year and we all knew it would be tough. With a new coach and players I think any type of post season tourney will be a plus to build on and learn from. That is something more worthy of X and Kentucky pulling in the next few years when they are on the bubble. Also, Coleman could go down with an ACL in practice or against a pre-season cupcake. Do you hold him out then? If you are the University or CJP you do NOT make decisions based on things of that nature that could happen.

Unless you're a really young team I'm against the NIT. We play 4 players major minutes that wont be here next year. If we're going to play Barham, Coleman, Garcia, Stephens, and WW 40 minutes a game then by all means, go to the NIT.

It wouldn't have mattered. Not like we gained anything from going those three years. Cal was able to motivate those teams though to play in what most feel is a loser tournament.

You're saying the same thing Ole Miss fans said last year. The only difference is that Tiger fans DO care about it. We'll still fill up the Forum for the games in Memphis. We enjoy watching our team play the game they work pretty dang hard for.

Go ahead and tell Doneal and Willie that no one cares about seeing them represent the Tigers one more time.

You can jump off the bandwagon now.

teams and fans that act like they're too good for the NIT always look dumb.

if you're truly too good for the NIT, you'd be playing in the NCAA.

we don't need any whiny-baby entitlement nonsense. keep playing as long as you can - you play to win games, so try to win more games for as long as you can.

I don't really care about the NIT. I think it should be up to the players. I will certainly support the team, but I don't really care about the outcome one way or another. If it means another parade for finishing 66th then I would rather not go.

What if UTEP gets knocked off tonight and Houston ends up winning the NIT. Houston could be the lone CUSA member in the tourney. The NIT could become a subset of the CUSA tourney.

Let's win the NIT this year and next year (pre-season of course).

There is nothing wrong with being in the NIT. Refusing to go will be elitist and snobbery and that is not what Memphis basketball is all about. On top of that, lets chalk up some more W's and get the chance to have some more home games to go to.

The program has a great coach, great recruits, and a great future. Considering the raping we received from Cal, I couldn't be more pleased with this season and how quickly we are poised to bounce back. I've gotta take a break from all the nonsense and negativity on this board. I'll bet some of you are awesome to hang out with, probably talking about some girl that broke up with you or divorced you 20 years ago.

My glass is half full. Go TIGERS!
