Jurich On Big10/BE Expansion
This tidbit from a poster on Louisville's Scout site.

Jurich said as a matter of fact that the Big Ten is seeking expansion. Their number one target is Notre Dame, followed by Pitt and Rutgers....."I've gone on the offensive, and we are trying to get out in front of this thing.....we will look to Florida and possibly CUSA for replacements."

RE: Jurich On Big10/BE Expansion
hard to see fl at/int getting a whiff from the big east, i would think some texas school's might be in the mix for the big east before them. As for the big 10, no Missouri or Syracuse?

I would bet the Florida comment was about UCF. No other Florida school fits the bill.

RE: Jurich On Big10/BE Expansion
No love for memphis either? if it goes down like i think or hope worst case the big east will lose one school to the big 10. At that point, i'm not sure who the big east will pick? Of course, it depends on what school the big east loses to the big 10, ND or a football school. IF its ND, the 8 football school's should split add CFU and take gtown, nova, and st john's with them for a 12 team league but they probably won't pull that off so it will be adding one football school from memphis or ucf. If its a football school leaving, i like going up to 18 with st louis u and two football school's, maybe memphis and TCU or Houston.

IMO UCF has always been the school that fits the current BE football school profile the best. Urban. Large student body. Good media market. There may be more additions, but I think the list starts with UCF when its all said and done.

Just read that on ITV. Hopefully they land ND and we move on with our lives. If I'm any of the southern 4 or Syracuse and UConn I'm doing what I can to assist Notre Dame in packing their bags.

I also assume that UCF is who Jurich was talking about but the way he phrased "Florida and possibly CUSA" makes it open for all sorts of interpretation.

He did mention Memphis indirectly by saying C USA which would assume to also mean UCF and ECU among others BUT also saying Florida could mean The U and hopefully not Atlantic or International

I don't know. It's pretty much on par with JoePa's, "it's coming" statement. It's almost a fore gone conclusion we will lose atleast 1 to B10 expansion and the most logical choice is a Florida school (UCF) or another CUSA school.

The way I read it --

Central Florida will be a Big East member -- likely the first one to be added -- when the Big East loses a member.

No way in the world does he actually mean UF.

As for other C-USA schools -- it'll be a battle between Memphis and East Carolina.

If West Virginia remains a Big East member, I'll tilt towards East Carolina. If West Virginia senses it can get an invite from either the ACC or SEC, Memphis will be the other replacement.

If Louisville is casting the deciding vote between Memphis and East Carolina, Memphis will be the school.

Nothing to lose at this point somebody has to keep our schools fanbase momey donors informed since BE office isn't. Nothing to lose with schools either since previous posts show they are at odds

ecuacc4ever^ true, but he only mentioned replacements. If the BE is only looking to replace what is lost all BE schools (basketball-only included) will vote.

If he meant UCF, wouldn't that have been covered by the C*USA remark? Seems to me that by saying C*USA and Florida, he must be referring to Florida schools that are not in C*USA.

Still can't say where I get my info, but I get more and more confident in it every day. I also don't know who the mystery school is, that's why I call them the mystery school. My guesses would be temple, Marshall, and in my wildest dream, tcu (although I find that highly unlikely)
