WVU athletics budget zooms to $58 million
http://www.register-herald.com/todaysspo...58-million

an excerpt:

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia University’s annual budget for its department of intercollegiate athletics is at an all-time high of $58 million.

That’s nearly five times larger than it was ($12 million) when Ed Pastilong became director of athletics 21 years ago.

“For the 2009-10 fiscal year our expenses will be about $56 million, so we should end with about $2 million in the black,” said Pastilong. That should be good news for Pastilong’s successor, who will take over on July 1.

I like that $2 million surplus. That's sweet. I just hope the new AD doesn't come in and screw up the finances...
