I am becoming more and more concerned about the WVU coaching staff, but I also think the Marshall coaching staff made critical mistakes late. They were in a really soft prevent defense and WVU marched right down the field.
You are probably right, but it should not come down to that.

They ran out of gas because of the talent differential; that is it. WVU got out coached.

I don't doubt they ran out of gas,

But the Marshall staff made 2 critical errors: not going for the 4th and 1, and staying in a soft prevent during those final drives.

RE: WVU - Marshall thread
marshall had a good team last year, they beat a tough ohio team in their bowl game and ohio only lost to uconn by 7 points last year.

this is a classic case of overlooking an opponent and not being prepared.......03-banghead

What a game. This is why its good for the state to play a game like this. National TV and a triller finish.

Funny thing is a lot of the Marshall folks are saying the exact opposite on their board. Guess it just depends on your perspective

RE: WVU - Marshall thread
Losses like that crush a teams morale. I am not sure that they are going to have a good season now. It is hard to come back from a loss like that. That happened to us against our in state rival NCSU the year we started 3-0 a couple of years ago. We lost 3 straight games after that one.

Marshall's prevent D allowed WVU to storm down the field twice at the end of the game. Those were some terribe defensive play calls. Noel Devine is an amazing player. He reminds me a little of Barry Sanders.

Raleighwood - we lost 3 straight after going 3-0 because we lost Quentin Cotton at LB.

Way to stick it out WV - turrible defense by Marshall. Can't stop doing what got you there that late in the game.
