RE: Gas Prices
$3.57 in the Chicago suburbs yesterday.

What may make this difficult to follow is that different regions tax fuel differently.

I filled up for $46.00 which it high for me.

RE: Gas Prices
Seems to have become stable between 3.32 and 3.39 around here. There are some exceptions such as a BP and a Hess near the Lincoln Tunnel in Hoboken, NJ which are 3.45 and 3.49 respectively just capitalizing on a relative lack of competition and more so the fact that its still much cheaper than what New Yorkers are paying, so you can catch them on their way back in.

BTW, there has been a new oil sheen off the coast of Louisiana. The experts aren't sure if its a new leak or oil from last years spill. Not sure what effects that'll have on gas prices in the near and long distance future.

My guess is they will be cleaning that up in spurts for decades to come. That's always been my thought anyway.

RE: Gas Prices
To to $3.77 around Houston.

A co-worker has heard estimates of $5.00/gallon by Memorial Day. Not sure I agree, but it is possible...

RE: Gas Prices
If you like the city, you'll need to hit Nashville or Memphis. The rest of the state is all rednecks and country. Charleston, WV seems like a bigger city than Knoxville, even though Knoxville has 10 times the population. But Charleston is urbane, and Knoxville isn't...

Tennessee is great though. I like it here. The folks in Appalachia don't change much, except for the accent...

I'm a city boy at heart. I'll check each out before I'd make a move. I'm more fond of Nashville for whatever reason.

RE: Gas Prices
Nashville is a great town. I've considered moving there more than once. But the wife keeps saying she wants to go back to WV every time I mention it. So here we stay...

My favorite town in East Tennessee is Oak Ridge. But the wife doesn't like it, so scratch that idea too...

RE: Gas Prices
I have cousins that live in Oak Ridge. My cousin by marriage is a nuclear engineer for the DoE's nuclear facility there. Knoxville was just a big exurban mess at that time and I don't thing its changed that much despite the growth. Nashville on the other hand ain't half bad. I'm too much of a yankee and major city guy to ever move there (New York, Philly, Boston, Chicago, Baltimore, Washington and San Fran would be great, LA & San Diego I could tolerate maybe) but its a great place to visit for a few days here and there.

BTW, regular is up to 3.79 as of last night.
