i'd start with my favorite, in case we die. though their last album, places like this is more polished. fingers crossed their first album is also pretty damn good.

yeah. this will be my fourth time seeing 'em. twice in smaller venues, once in a medium sized venue and now a somewhat medium sized venue. surprised they're playing at a former strip club, as they could be playing in larger venues, imo

RE: 2011 Albums
So I've listened to the new TV On The Radio like 5 times now and i think i'm ready to give an opinion. It's not quite as good as Dear Science, nor is it as cohesive. That being said, it's another great addition to their catalog. Some really cool guitar work and great bass, with some killer horns. The lyrics definitely aren't as robust as Dear Science. Naturally, there are no songs i don't like and there are definitely a few songs that will go down as TVOTR classics. No Future, New Cannonball Run and Repetition fall under that classic category. On a tough scale I'd give this an 8/10. It's definitely as good as Return to Cookie Mountain

the new album is streaming on their website. http://www.thekills.tv/bloodpressuresstream.php
Edit: Listening now. Track #3, Beating Heart, is so damn good. Lush, you'll love it, cuz it really pushes her voice to the forefront with some really grimy instrumentation

awesome! tnx swoosh! listen when i get a chance. i might have to disagree though with your saying that 'dear science' is better than 'cookie mountain.' my roomie though agreed with you. said that overall, while lacking the star-power of singles, was a more cohesive album. i still beg to differ, but i can see the point. looking forward to it. have you heard tunde's side project maximum balloon?

they're both great albums, so it really doesn't matter. I agree about the cohesive part though.
Pretty sure maximum balloon was dave sitek's side project and no i was afraid to listen. I usually don't like those various artists albums and I didn't want anything to tarnish my opinion of Sitek, so i didn't listen. Did you listen to Kyp Malone's side project, Rain Machine?

well that certainly makes sense. was listening on a mix in my roomie's car. a few maximum balloon songs, one with tunde and one with karen o, both awesome. haven't heard rain machine nor iran which i think was another kyp side project. should i check out rain machine?
have you seen rachel getting married? tunde's in it. it's pretty remarkable

RE: 2011 Albums
new Fleet Foxes leaked early and i can, without a doubt, say that it's awesome. It's a true ALBUM! The only way I can listen to it, is from start to finish. It leaked in average quality, but the band didn't want people listening to it like that, so they leaked a high quality version. Possibly my favorite album of the year so far. Better than The Decemberists and The Joy Formidable by a hair. A legitimate 9/10 for me

certainly it's comparable. Hard to say which is better. I take it you weren't a fan?

new Foo Fighters album streaming here.
I'm not well versed in that kind of 90's rock, but this sounds like a pretty damn good album to me, although i'm only like 5 songs in.

Good to hear. I really liked the first CD -- Blue Ridge Mountains never gets old.

oh i did enjoy it, but after a few listens the album became repetitive and thus boring. there were too many neo-folk albums out that i was listening too, almost bored with the whole genre. maybe save for bon iver, his melodies are just gorgeous

RE: 2011 Albums
Ok so instead of listening to the new Foo Fighters (which was made on analog tape) through my speakers, I put on my awesome Bowers & Wilkins headphones. let me just say that the headphones take the album from very good to great. If you have great headphones I recommend listening to this on them before listening through speakers, no matter how good they may be
