Analysis of Tulsa 2011 Football Recruiting Class
Every recruiting year is different. Every recruiting year has a twist to it. This year's twist was the departure of Todd Graham and the appointment of Bill Blankenship as new head coach. Blankenship immediately put his stamp on this class by offering DT and DE to build depth. None of the 4 DL's recruited by Blankenship had been offered by Graham. (Former Tulsa QB Todd Berry, now head coach @ULM, recruits Oklahoma area very hard).

Gary Lee, DT, 6-5, 285, Tulsa Victory Christian, OK

Comment: Switched verbal from Wyoming to Tulsa

Nick Hall, DT/DE, 6-4, 265, Broken Arrow, OK
Offers: AFA, Army, La Tech, Western KY
Comment: Had not verballed to any school

Derrick Leutjen, DT, 6-3, 270, Hennessey, OK
Offers: Army, La Tech, ULM, Dartmouth
Comment: Switched verbal from ULM to Tulsa

Derrick Alexander, DE/LB, 6-1, 250, Tulsa Booker T. Washington, OK
Offers: ULM, Eastern Michigan
Switched verbal from ULM to Tulsa

Josh Cunningham, DE, 6-2, 215, Claremore, OK (Walk-On, Grey Shirt)

A couple of things about these kids. Leutjens dad (a coach) said he's about 6-4 and about 280. Also Alexander was the TW Player of the year and lists him a 6-3 263. I've seen him listed at 6-1, 6-2 and now 6-3. Who knows? I like the size and think BB wants kids in the line with big frames to grow.

Josh Cunningham update
Fully rehabbed knee he is enrolled for Spring 2012 and will hope to help somewhere next season.
He did go to Osu as a preferred walk on and basically told his positions were at full capacity..
