Left up to me, I wouldn't bother with courts or panels of inquiry. I'd forget about any legal proceedings, and just shoot the SOB. Then I'd distribute his vast fortune among those he scammed...

What is so sad is that in any other industry, that would represent conflicts of interest to the point that the whole firm would be estopped from practicing the defense of the white collar crimes.

Also, the idea that the white collar crimes must be slam dunks is prepasterous at best. May death row cases have a much lower standard call beyond reasonable doubt. That same standard, applied in all criminal prosecutions, should be applied to white collar crimes.

I'm pro-private sector in most, if not all, sectors; however, tolerating cheaters, manipulators and scammers is not a part of honest business.

I'm also against the separation of white collar criminals from other criminals. If they're criminals, they're criminals, white collar or otherwise, and any prison is good enough for them. To heck with these country clubs we send rich criminals to spend their days relaxing until they can come out and screw people again. I say stick them in with the regular prison population. That way they'll have some experience, and know what getting screwed is really like...

You old softy, send them out in the fields and make them grow their own food, harvest it, can it. Take away the cable tv, better yet, the TV, too. They can have a library of donated books. No computers.
