If they think Josh should be fired, who would they recommend to take his place that would come here?
I think firing a coach who went 24-10 and 22-9 in his first two seasons is a ludicrous thought. Especially when all the returning upper classmen were basically no-shows all year, we lost maybe our best recruit, and the top 5 guys are all freshmen.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy, and I express my feelings, especially during games, but Josh needs 2-3 more years to properly evaluate his performance, and give him a fair chance, considering where we started from 2 years ago. We have to show much improvement next season, but to say today's win is a "fireable" offense seems over the top to me.
Now that is what we call a middle of the road, reasoned analysis of the situation. I applaud you, sir.
As for these twitters, maybe these media types should save their tweets until after the game is complete, not when Tulane is up by 7. You never know when the Tigers are about to end the game on a 20-8 run and you (the media twittering types) are going to look like an emotional twit who jumped the gun a tad.

So it took 180 replies for someone to point out those tweets were well before the game was decided?
Boy, do those tweeters have egg on their face?
Jason Smith's and Wolken's looked like they were after we won.

I don't believe they were all well before the game was over, the "fireable offense" tweet was when Tulane was up 7. The others I believe were post game.

You got it wrong.
The twitter boys follow him and post his crap here.
The haters take the shots. I doubt any of the haters would be one of his boys.
I'm proud to say I wouldn't know the first thing about "following" someone on twitter nor is there ANYBODY in the world worth following.
i laughed so hard when i read this i almost spilled my drink
i dont "follow" on twitter nor do i have followers.
just as putting a man on the moon is a monument to human ingenuity,
twitter is most certainly a monument to his narcissism
ha
so you're saying that 40-50 yr old types who seek these twats out and love to post them on a public message board are a tad weird?
I totally agree with you then.

They all made legitimate points and all you do is bash bash bash. Tulane is 3-13 in CUSA and +200 RPI. There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO LOSE TO THEM AT HOME.
Also, they shot "out of their minds" from 3 because they weren't guarded. It was like the worlds longest game of horse and they won.
There wasn't a legitimate point made in ANY of those tweets. And, you know it.
The point was: we played bad once again but managed to scrape out a win because Tulane is horrific.
Ok for starters, wolken said that pastner should be fired. That is simply a dumb*** statement.
Secondly, we didn't defend the perimeter well. Most teams don't shoot 50% from three even when they get open looks. That is a fact.
Another fact, 55% from the floor, almost 2to1 asst/to ratio, +9 rebounding, and 7 blocks isn't a bad game on this or any other planet.
Funny how they don't realize this, or do they just intentionally overlook facts? Either way, I'm done arguing with dumbasses. Heck, I can do that over at ESPN.
We were consistently beat off the dribble and our guards didn't try very hard to beat their men off the dribble against a horrible Tulane team.
Our guards shot 4 FTs against a team we should be able to win the battles on the perimeter.

Yet another alias, well done. Maybe the CA will have something new to report in the sporting section.

Just because someone has a big enough set of balls they can enjoy winning it does not mean they are unaware the team won fewer games than we would have liked---but it means we do not let that fact drag us down from enjoying today's game/ That we are thick enough to separate that.
Maybe the kids could be big whiney ******* like the twitterers and tuck tail and lose.
**** them.
Nothing you coould do at the moment we were down 7 in the second half- except rally and win.
And they did.
So **** those whiney entitled ******.

Wolken is a joke. I recall him saying soon after he left that he was done talking memphis on twitter yet it seems he talks about us every game.
He also said something of how Will Barton is lazy and selfish. Kinda reminds me of him when he was covering the tigers.

Wolken is probably bored with his new job. He knew he had a good thing here in Memphis but his pompus a$s attitude got in the way of his journalistic integrity.

Compared to the 17,000 people in the Forum tonight, the four twitter media types and the seven or eight Entitleds on here are like a frog p-ssing in a lake. The water doesn't even ripple. Ig 'em.
