I saw the report the other day. It doesn't surprise me at all. Saudi Arabia isn't exactly fond of freedom of speech...

What Bit said, and add that the Saudis have a real fear that what is happening in their neck of the woods can spill over to them full force.

Imagine what would happen if Saudi Arabia went in to a civil war...

The Saudi's own a lot of our debt, thanks to their intimate relationship with the BU$H family...

RE: Saudi police fire at protests
The debt is a funny (read: Ironic) situation. Our nation is fabulously wealthy in natural resources and labor and innovation, yet the government refusees to allow us to use any of that and regulates/legislates us into poverty among the nations. Our debt can be paid off in years, not decades, if we would exploit our resources.

I understand the theories and concepts of using other nations resources but to completely, or near completely, shut down industries is beyond the pale. Especially when we have announced unemployment of 10%+, in real terms, closer to 20%. One of the reasons it is cheaper to move manufacturing overseas is because we do not exploit our own resources.

Of course, without fiscal discipline, paying off the debt wouldn't matter anyway as the politicos would merely do the same thing all over again. The sadest maxim is, "History repeats itself."

It was a business decision. They want to exhaust the resources of every other nation on Earth, before they exhaust ours. That way, we'll be the last nation with any resources - after we've used up everyone else's - and the people who own them own everything...
