More Hypocrisy
Hooray for transparency (this word you keep using....I do not think it means what you think it means, Bobo...)

Quote: OBAMA BANS REPORTER

The hip, transparent and social media-loving Obama administration is showing its analog roots. And maybe even some hypocrisy highlights.

White House officials have banished one of the best political reporters in the country from the approved pool of journalists covering presidential visits to the Bay Area for using now-standard multimedia tools to gather the news.

The Chronicle's Carla Marinucci - who, like many contemporary reporters, has a phone with video capabilities on her at all times -shot some protesters interrupting an Obama fundraiser at the St. Regis Hotel. She was part of a "print pool" - a limited number of journalists at an event who represent their bigger hoard colleagues - which White House press officials still refer to quaintly as "pen and pad" reporting.

But that's a pretty Flintstones concept of journalism for an administration that presents itself as the Jetsons. Video is every bit a part of any journalist's tool kit these days as a functioning pen that doesn't leak through your pocket.

In fact, Carla and her reporting colleague, Joe Garofoli, founded something called "Shaky Hand Productions" - the semi-pro, sometimes vertiginous use of a Flip or phone camera by Hearst reporters to catch more impromptu or urgent moments during last year's California gubernatorial race that might otherwise be missed by TV.

The name has become its own brand; often politicians even ask if anyone from Shaky Hand will show at their event. For Carla, Joe and reporters at other Hearst newsrooms where Shaky Hand has taken hold, this was an appropriate dive into use of other media by traditional journalists catering to audiences who expect their news delivered in all modes and manners.

That's the world we live in and the President of the United States claims to be one of its biggest advocates.

Just the day before Carla's Stone Age infraction, Mr. Obama was at Facebook seated next to its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, and may as well have been wearing an "I'm With Mark" t-shirt for all the mutual admiration going back and forth.

What's worse: more than a few journalists familiar with this story are aware of some implied threats from the White House of additional and wider punishment if Carla's spanking became public. Really? That's a heavy hand usually reserved for places other than the land of the free.

RE: More Hypocrisy
The trend in transparency, openness, and bipartisanship I guess.

Quote:The White House Press Office has refused to give the Boston Herald full access to President Obama’s Boston fund-raiser today, in e-mails objecting to the newspaper’s front page placement of a Mitt Romney op-ed, saying pool reporters are chosen based on whether they cover the news “fairly.”

“I tend to consider the degree to which papers have demonstrated to covering the White House regularly and fairly in determining local pool reporters,” White House spokesman Matt Lehrich wrote in response to a Herald request for full access to the presidential visit.

“My point about the op-ed was not that you ran it but that it was the full front page, which excluded any coverage of the visit of a sitting US President to Boston. I think that raises a fair question about whether the paper is unbiased in its coverage of the President’s visits,”

Arnold Schwarzenegger veto's gay rights because he respects the sacred union of marriage and goes off and have a child with a women right under his own roof. Hypocrisy.

Being that his lovechild's mother is of mexican decent, and his strong stance on immigration. I just hope she has her card.

What's amazing is that you don't even bother to defend Obama anymore. This guy was supposed to bring change you can believe in. Instead b, you make him out to be like everyone else that represents what's wrong with politics.

I don't think it's that he respects the "sacred union of marriage". The correct terminology is that he believes marriage is reserved to be between a man and a woman. Not between persons of the same sex.

I don't condone unfaithfulness. Obviously Schwarzenegger doesn't either since he's apologized and asked for forgiveness.

To me there is a difference in making a mistake and admitting it, and making mistakes and continuing on like you didn't or like there was nothing wrong with what you did.

That's how Obama is. Obama acts God-like. Like he can do no wrong.

I wish the first Black president would have been Colin Powell or Condoleeza Rice. I really respect both of them. They are qualified and have plenty of White House experience in various capacities at the highest levels, including Powell's military service. Obama is the most unqualified president, next to Jimmy Carter, of my lifetime.

But in today's world, if you say a Black person is unqualified.......you're a racist. If you say a homosexual isn't qualified........you're a homophobe. Doesn't matter whether they are or aren't qualified. All that matters is that they are a minority and can play that racist or homophobe card. Liberals use that option 99% of the time.

I was watching a little of The Ed Show on MSNBC the other night and he was saying Gingrich was a racist because Newt made some comment about Obama shooting three pointers. How in the world he came to that conclusion is beyond me. And while I think Gingrich is a very smart politician and has the best interests of the country, I wouldn't vote for him. I respect him, but don't think he'd make a good president. But back to the Ed Show...........just a typical Liberal putting ridiculous ideas in the minds of the Sheep watching his show. All frickin' ridiculous leftwing propaganda.

Arnold didnt really "admit" a mistake. He hid his love child for 10 years! from his wife and the public. Then he released a press release "admitting" his mistake.

RE: More Hypocrisy
Maybe this isn't the thread, but I don't understand the argument that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. That may be your religious belief, but that simply isn't acceptable when it comes to how this government should operate. Everyone is equal. Everyone should have the same rights. Regardless of race, gender or orientation.

I believe in civil unions and having equal rights like hospital visitation etc. Im not sure about marriage though.

It's another worthless thread. It's amazing that In the eyes of many of you, obama is the worst president ever yet you spend so much time on meaningless BS such as his birth certificate, or how many teleprompters he use. is that all you have on him?

Is this a politics board or just a cheap mudslinging romper room for whiners?

I'm not gonna lump all you republicans together because some of you make great points. Hawkeye makes good points as well as g. some of you don't do your party in favors.

Rath,

who are you trying to convince on this board, you could make up the most insane stuff about the dems. and not one rep. would challenge it. You just put extra wear and tear on your two index fingers typing that stuff when you had them at hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy should be the one word banned on this board. you guys post some of the most insignificant stuff moments after it happens yet it's crickets when osama is killed or a negative story about republicans break.

you calling obama a hypocrite may be true but it's like a crackhead calling whitney houston a crackhead.

RE: More Hypocrisy
Ah. More logical fallacies when any criticism is levied at this administration.

1. Change the topic...

2. Nothing to see here...

3. Silly Teabaggers...

4. Well, Bush...

If #1-4 don't do the trick, call in the big guns and maybe the angry chicks on The View can call it racism.

Quit with all the intellectual dishonesty and just admit that its ok to censure the press as long as its the right guy doing the censuring.
