If they did this for the Bengals, they should really be challenged in their thinking. Moving one of your 6 home games because of a PRE-SEASON Bengals game that, given the labor situation, has 50%+ chance of not being played at all?? Plus, home pre-season games are not televised live, but only on tape delay, so there is no conflict in terms of broader impact. We've played games at the same time as Reds games..even during pennant chase situations..on multiple occasions over the years, so why is this move necessary?! To move the game, inconvenience fans who have already purchased tickets, and more importantly, reduce prep time for an even bigger game the following Saturday.........all because of the %$##$ Bengals?? Come out and say why the game was moved. Again, Noon Saturday games are terrible. Terrible for tailgaiting and terrible for the dominant youth sports leagues that schedule soccer and everything else on Saturday mornings and early afternoon. If this goes to Noon Saturday...it's a TERRIBLE move.

I was hoping that UC days of competing with youth sports leagues was over? Maybe not? Saturday is college football day. The concern about competing head to head with the Bungles is legit. I would still prefer a 7PM kickoff vs. noon though.

RE: UC/AP game
Not over. As a coach in one fall sport, and a parent in another, I can tell you I know a ton of UC ticket holders that die a slow death when games are scheduled for noon on Saturdays. Its not which they'd rather attend. Its which they have to attend. Reason noon game attendance looks crappy at kickoff. Eastside, BearcatJim, & others I know around here can attest to showing up in the 3rd quarter because its the best they can do under bad circumstances.

And for years UC always had a ton of night games, well before being in the
Big East. Kind of a tradition of sorts, 7 PM kick offs.
Anybody know why this is a noon kick?

Has it been announced as a noon kickoff? I think everyone is speculating right now.
"Game time and television opportunities will be announced at a later date."

Bet you a cup of coffee it is a noon game. I'll even up the ante to a vanilla latte.

RE: UC/AP game
Great! We had a conflict as Fox Sorts has announced they will regionally televise the Highlands/Dixie showdown featuring two of the nations's elite QB's in Uk commit and UC recruit Towles and Dixie's Auburn Commit Pike. This is scheduled the same time UC was to play! Great for us...Go Birds and GO UC! Saturday will draw much better, now lets hope for a later pm or evening kick-off... NO NOON games! Please

1st game of the season following a 4 -8 campaign against an FCS school? Yep, I'd bet it was a noon game.

RE: UC/AP game
I guess it all comes down to who can attend. One group couldn't attend b/c it being after work on a Thurs. Another group can't b/c sons/daughters sports on Sat morning. Probably should stick to late Sat afternoon/evening, unless tv money dictates otherwise.
I originally planned on a Thurs of Reds game in the afternoon, tailgating, then the main event being UC. We almost planned a trip on the following Sat. I am glad we didn't.

Football schedule is announced, and then published. Season tickets must be paid for by April 22nd. Family vacation is then scheduled around UC games. And then on May 11 (after they have your money), UC announces a change. I'm sure that many others will have similar issues. Our athletic department continues to come up with new ways to disappoint fans. I have friends that are still waiting on their Oklahoma tickets. Not to mention the fiasco that was the now-defunct Bowl Credit program.
Not good PR for a program coming off a very disappointing 4-8 season.
Spot on This athletic dept continues to shoot itself in the foot. As much as I hate bringing it up, I wonder how many will show for this one.

Another fine job by the UC Athletic Department.
Is that the guy BearcatVol on Scout? Just curious. He just posted the same story.

RE: UC/AP game
Moving this game for TV purposes (if that's the reason) makes me How much TV exposure does a tune-up vs. a D-IAA get in the first place??

I doubt its about our exposure. More likely its about ESPN wanting to move game so that its more convenient for their ESPN360 or espn regional/bigeast crew that will broadcast game. They probably want that Thursday reserved for only certain games. Obviously this will broadcast to a very limited audience

Sounds like they moved this game to a 7 pm kickoff. Nice.
