Anyone know what the deal is will Bill Koch, I've emailed him multiple times about the lack of coverage for UC recruiting but have not recieved a response. He hasn't published one article on any of our recruits except the local ones. He typically doesn't even post anything regarding recruiting period.

Anyone know why?

RE: Bill Koch
He's terrible and so is their recruiting coverage. Trust me, we've all tried through the years to get through to that guy. He's just breezing along until retirement. He could care less about covering UC IMO.

He conveniently ignores e-mails all the time. I suggest if you e-mail him to also CC his boss at the Enquirer as well when you send them. You have a better chance of getting a response when you do that.

Also, I'm not even sure he has said anything about UC's local commitments. I think Mike Dyer is the one who has pretty much done the articles on the local guys that commit to UC. I'd love to have a guy like Mike covering UC sports. He'd do a great job. I definitely miss the days of Mike DeCourcey covering UC sports.

It's obvious the Enquirer doesn't have the slightest clue as to how to properly cover a BCS College Football program.

maybe if we start keying his car with our complaints, he'll start taking them seriously? Just trying to think outside the box...

If you want up-to-date recruiting coverage, I suggest you tap Tim Adams and Todd Cunningham over at 247sports

Just doesn't make sense the bad coverage, unless you follow stuff on the recruiting websites, its hard to get everyday fans excited about Bearcat football/basketball since they have no idea the progress we are making.

maybe we should email bomb him.

If you say something negative about UC, UC sports, UC venues, UC's campus, in an email to Koch he will probably respond. Your email asking about The Enquirer's lack of coverage is taken as a shot at them, a legitimate shot imo.
Especially regarding football, it seems that Bill might be much more happy if this was 1970 or 1980 something and Nippert is half empty and the Stadium is falling apart.

The only time Koch really does any recruiting stuff is when its a signing day. Mike Dyer covers high school sports so any local commitments to UC are more his thing.

Occasionally BCL will submit a piece to be published on Enquirer.com

The Enquirer needs a guy like Jody Demling of the Louisville C-J.

There are alot of media members wishing UC was back in the 70's / 80's - Koch, Daugherty, probably the entire Enquirer staff, Brad "Blow"-hansen, Dave Lapham..... list goes on and on.....

Part of changing the culture of the program is changing the people who cover it. IMO I think having a reporter interview a potential recruit or current commit would help in the recruiting process, especially if we had 5* and 4* guys coming and being interviewed. It would seem a lot more legit and glamorous imo.

The enquirer is too worried about alienating UK and OSU fans to ever cover UC as a primary.

Seriously - what does Koch do with his time? Sunday's sports section was 16 pages, 14 if you take out the center page ads. Not a single UC story - and was there one Monday or today? Didn't see one. I know it is not football or basketball season, but geez - there are over 100 players and coaches for hoops and football, there are other sports, there must be something of interest he could write about, no? I would suspect that it would be hard to find another BCS non-BEast school that didn't have a single story about anything going on in their athletic program in a 14 page Sunday paper sports section, whatever the season.

I knew the Enquirer was going under but just the idea that they would continue to pay him the amount they do for how little articles/blog posts he actually generates more than proves the newspaper is bleeding cash.
