Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Peter Sellers is brilliant in three different roles. General Jack Ripper cracks my **** up. But Buck Tergenson (George C Scott) steals the show. This movie is brilliant and hilarious in so many ways and holds up so well.

that's the thing about the coen's. the first film i saw of their's was big lebowski. then i saw oh brother, where art thou. i thought they were a comedic troupe. i had seen raising arizona, but barely any of it. still haven't, and i really need too. years later, i saw no country for old men. oh sh!t. then i watched barton fink and fargo which both i thought kinda funny. oh yeah, in between i watched burn after reading and loved it. also in between was a serious man, which also was kinda funny. the coen's aren't really supposed to be funny, dark humor in bits and pieces. i love 'em to death. now jim jarmusch is a director who's arty funny. check out coffee & cigarettes.
I DVR'd "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou" and didn't watch it for 6 months thinking I probably wouldn't like it. I loved it. The Klan scene is hilarious.
If you ever get a chance to watch any of the 1970's & 1980's SCTV TV shows now out on DVD, do it. Funny. Funny. Cast included John Candy, Rick Moranis, Joe Flaherty, Andrea Martin, Dave Thomas, Catherine O'Hara and Harold Ramis.
Now the movies.
Get Shorty - Incredibly funny and full of great performances. I watch it once a year.
National Lampoon's Vacation.
L.A. Story - Steve Martin wrote it and starred in it. A fantastic though short performance by Sarah Jessica Parker.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy - Will Ferrell at his best.
A Day at the Races/Duck Soup - Take your pick.
Road to Morroco - My favorite comedic actor, Bob Hope.
Spaceballs - Loved John Candy as Barf
Best In Show - A show about dogs.
Plains, Trains & Automobiles - A classic.
Any Three Stooges movie or short that Curly Howard appeared in.
Many of the other movies already posted...including Animal House & The Big L.
The Apartment - Jack Lemon & Shirley MacLaine.
The Out of Towners - Jack Lemon & Sandy Dennis.
Lost in America - Albert Brooks at his best.

Did anyone post Airplane!?
If we're going to include older movies, Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, and Marilyn Monroe in "Some Like It Hot"

I thought Hangover 2 was very average and would be just another mediocre comedy if it were not the sequel to one of the most popular comedies ever.
