MSNBC's Schultz off air because of remark
MSNBC's Schultz off air because of remark

Published - May 26 2011 10:22AM EST

NEW YORK — MSNBC's Ed Schultz is off the air for more than a week after calling a fellow talk-show host a vulgar term.

On his radio show, the liberal commentator referred to conservative host Laura Ingraham as a "right-wing slut." He was apparently upset over her criticism of President Barack Obama's overseas trip.

Schultz apologized on MSNBC on Wednesday to Ingraham, his family, MSNBC and viewers for the remark. He said it was wrong and uncalled for, and he recognized the severity of what he said.

MSNBC said the network and Schultz mutually agreed on a suspension that will take him off the air until June 6.

Call Laura Ingraham a right wing slut = 1 week off

Call the Rutgers Women's BB Team some Nappy Headed Hos = Fired

IMUS Fired

Is one too severe? Is one too lenient? Justice served in both cases?

I don't pretend to keep up with all the corporate-media comings-and-goings, but I think Comcast is effectively in control of MSNBC right now. Whoever it is, the suspension of Schultz, plus the fine/suspension (& eventual departure) of Olbermann last year suggests there is a limit as to "how far" Comcast is willing to let their on-air talent go in the pursuit of attacking conservatives.

Schultz is a junior varsity clown.

His ratings also suck.

Not a good idea to give your bosses a reason to fire you WITH CAUSE when they might have been thinking about replacing you anyway.

He can join Olberman and on a new network with a total viewing audience that could fit comfortably in my kitchen.

Chorizo (I make my own) and eggs with mango habanero sauce.

I am thinking a Carmenere or a Malbec or a Rioja with that, no?

Malbec, with chorizo, no doubt.

BTW, there is a wine site called Snoot and inside that site is another private site called Lot 18. This morning I bought a vineyard duo of 2005 Terra Valentine, Wurtele & Yverdon Cabernet Sauvingon for $90. The wine is rated a 94 by most of the raters and normally goes for $140.

Thanks for the tip - those two look exciting. Please share your thoughts when you get to try them.

If you have an interest in checking out a Cincinnati guy, Brian Terrizzi, who is quickly becoming known as one of the the best (some consider the best) Italian varietal producer in California --- check out these wines http://www.giornatawines.com

You can find a few of his releases at John Robert's and Boca.

They were featured in a big article about Paso Robles in this months Wine & Spirits Magazine.

He produces the Giornata wines in VERY SMALL quantities so you have to order most of his stuff within a week or two of release. But it is well worth it.

Anyway thought you might have an interest since he is a local guy. His other non-italian label called BROADSIDE, which he does in both a Cabernet and a Chardonnay and in much greater quantity than his Giornata label. Broadside is a huge feature wine at Jungle Jims. I talked to their head wine guy their and he said his buyers tell him it may be the best Cab under $20 (its $17-$19) in the entire store.

Again, beck:

1. If you are a *********, you are probably a Democrat.
2. If you belong to the Tea Party you are either an independent or a Conservative Republican.

I don't think Mr. Limbaugh is a *********, nor are majority of conservative talk-show hosts.
