Just kidding; I like our name. It defines who we are... flagship of the 51st state.

If you wanted to become arrogant and cheat you could rebrand yourselves as THE Carolina University. (Just for clarity that is a shot at the most hated Ohio State University not at your school).

BTW, ECU is well known in Cali. and Hawii, we have 4 girls on the softball team from Hawii and a couple from Cali. But, don't worry about it, we wouldn't want your head to swell anymore.

I had never heard of ECU prior to going to UCF, having grown up most of my life in N California. However, I had never heard of UCF either. What is funny though as a week ago I was coming back from Florida and in SMF airport and saw a guy wearing an ECU Engineering shirt, I had to cringe cause I was wearing my UCF jacket.

I love the name East Carolina because we have 2 states that can call us home.

LOL! I've seen one or two UCF car stickers in this area. I do the cringe too but it's cool to have conference mates in the same area. My mother and step-father lived in N. California (Pinole, Pittsburgh, Redwood City) and even though they weren't ECU grads (Cal grad and Texas A&M/Auburn) they still proudly displayed an East Carolina license plate on their cars. That was in the late 80s. I was just happy the school got some eyeball time.

Can we move this to the ALL things ECU thread?
