Pretty sure Philmore announced this several weeks ago, this is just X making it more official. I'd be careful writing this kid off - he was very highly regarded in high school and I'd be surprised if he doesn't become a very good player at X.

Never would know it looking at his Rivals profile. The only schools offering were primarily A-10 along with Towson. Although Okla St, Prov, and USF offered. Just not a very overwhelming list. X beat out Delaware St and Dayton for this transfer. Also not ranked in top 150 for Rivals, although I know ratings don't mean anything. He might still be good, but just not impressed with the offers he received.

Who did Xavier have to run off to accept this transfer?

Quote:Towson transfer Isaiah Philmore trims list

Coming out of high school, Isaiah Philmore was a coveted recruit with offers and interest from a long list of high-major schools.

Philmore ended up choosing Towson, and it worked out well for him and the Tigers. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 15.3 points and 7.0 rebounds, despite Towson losing its final 19 games of the season. He was living up to the hype, but a team coming off a 4-26 record with a new head coach in Pat Skerry was not in Philmore’s plans. He decided he was transferring in mid-April, but is on the verge of a decision.

Philmore and former AAU coach Duane Coverdale visited four schools: Dayton, Missouri, Xavier and Delaware State.

“The plan is to have a decision by Memorial Day,” said Coverdale, who coached Philmore on the Delaware Sharpshooters. “It’s not set in stone, but that’s the plan.”

Coverdale said Philmore had trimmed the list to three schools; Missouri did not make the cut.

“It was a mutual situation,” he said. “The biggest thing was he didn’t commit while he was out there.” ....

Per scout and/or rivals his major offers out of HS included: OK St., Providence, S. Fla and Michigan. He was also reported to be a McD's All American nominee and ranked #69 in his class by Rivals (Towson bio) although it looks like it changed at some point as you noted (Not long after he picked Towson perhaps?)

RE: Eggs gets another transfer
I think snagging a transfer is not a bad idea... They have experience at a higher level and
will sit out a year while practicing with the team.
Eggs has found another way to red shirt players, academic non qualifiers and transfers..
