Why didn't I think of that, Wilkie, surely Memphis is the flagship of the conference with zero championships over SOUTHERN MISS who has four...of course that's true...Louisville logic would say that...of course....lol....

As soon as Louisville left CUSA, the Liberty Bowl is about to dump CUSA! So Louisville was the flagship and your Daddy, O. G. Eagle! 04-cheers

Quote:ok lets clarify this, i live in Miami and grew up a Canes fan before USF started football and UM has had more in comom with Syracuse and BC than any ACC school thats why they tried dragging them to the ACC.
They might have complained about the distances but they were never in favor of adding USF or UCF to give them a close competitor
Who will be Miami's tival in the ACC other than FSU? ill tell you it is VTech and BC over the Clemsom's and Georgia Tech's because thats who UM fans have grown competing against.
USF will develop rivalries with BE teams as they establish a history playing them,we can still play UCF yearly as an out of conference rival.I just dont see the advantages of bringing them into the BE conference being larger than the disadvantages

-- Ok...I'll defer to your judgement on this matter...I can understand why would not want another Flordia school but I still think the fans and players are missing out when you don't play a close regional conference opponet....maybe eventually ECU can fulfill that role for USF without being a recruiting threat

-- As for Miami...while they were in the BE...Va Tech was certainly a rival, Syracuse was certainly a rival, Pitt and WVU to a lesser extent....but I doubt BC ever reached that status, they simply were never in the running for a conferecne title untill last yr...the Hurricans had far bigger BE football fish to fry

Quote:You already sound like UK wanting to keep Louisville down and West Virginia wanting to keep Marshall down!

-- How is WVU keeping Marshall down when the Mountaineers were the ONLY school to support there entry into the BE?

-- Of couse MU fans are going to say that....fans of the smaller schools are always going to dislike the land grant state school..especially if there is a BCS, non BCS distinction seperating the two..but if you read the BE papers you'll see that WVU was the only school to vote for the Herd...

It may be an unpopular opinion here, but I'm cool with the BE playing C-USA in the Liberty. I think the C-USA champ will be better than the SEC's #7 or #8 entry most of the time.

Just because we're in a BCS league now doesn't mean I like the BCS system. It's a caste system based on money and reputation and it robs deserving teams of a chance to prove themselves quite often. I would trade BCS status for a fair playoff in a heartbeat.

You Effin Rock 04-rock

lol otherwise, I've decided not to get emotionally involved
with college football, despite the fact my team has a legitimate
heisman candidate, and is playing their best football in decades.

Guess, I'll go back to waiting for the basketball season to start.
At least we still have a fair(somewhat) chance. And the BCS didn't stop
us from snagging the 3rd best recruiting class in the country. God bless
Coach Cal.

So, here's hoping you BE guys DO take our bowl. 04-cheers It's only
right since you took our best competition after all. And you guys definately
want it more than I do at this point. Hell, I'd rather be in the Rose Bowl
myself if we had that option.

College football has become a friggin joke.

When does basketball tip off?

I agree with you that college fb has become joke. Unfortunately, a playoff or anything close to it will never happen. I dont like the bcs either.

I could see UCF-USF remain as a long series if it brings fans in but that doesnt mean that they must be in same conference.
This is a good point. USF would probably not vote to add a 5th BCS school to florida, but playing them isn't a bad game for us.

After all, up until this point we've been scheduling too many 1-aa payday games. Easy W's sure, but horrid attendance and not exactly thrilling games.

If nothing else, USF-UCF should raise home attendance for each school significantly, as that is an easy road trip to make. UCF is claiming they'll brink 12k to our game in tampa...that's a pretty sizable chunk...although sadly i fear some of the obvious consequences of having large quantities of both crowds there.

It will be many decades before USF-UCF could even possibly be as storied or looked forward to as the UF-FSU and FSU-Miami games. It was sad to see the UF-UM one ended on spurriers fear of UM and UF's drive for an easy and more lucrative all home ooc schedule.

cuseroc, I commend you for your brief quote. I honestly thought aristocratic crap was supposed to be kicked out simultaneously with King George III. Everyone sees that it is alive and well with college football and the BCS.
