Watching that video and listening to the reporter at the very end, I wouldn't put a lot of trust in the UL leadership to keep the BE together. It was quite telling when Ramsey bit his tongue and laughed when asked about if other schools can be trusted.

Pitt and Cuse already showed rest of the league no one can be trusted.

Do you not think that all 7 remaining schools are looking elsewhere at the moment?

Sadly yes, I think the 7 schools are scrambling to get out of dodge. It's a sad day for the BE - especially since all of the schools took a loyalty oath to remain together last night.

Actually, that is kind of the problem. Two of those seven (Rutgers and UConn) would not commit to the Big East last night. Which is kind of funny now, given that we now know the ACC probably won't be going to 16, and that at least one of those two would get left behind in the Big East break up.

Not sure lack of "trust" on the part of Pitt or Cuse is what you are going for here. It is more or less that the two schools had enough of the bickering and left the room rather than continue to listen to the clowns in Louisville and WVU discuss the SEC or USF block UCF or even Providence propose Villanova as a cure-all. Pitt wanted UCF and Syracuse wanted a all-sports conference...knowing those things were impossible they joined the ACC.

Agree...as I think it had more to due with incompetence rather than trust...because Pitt and Syracuse WATCHED the Big East Commish, lead by the hoop schools and seemingly 1 or 2 football schools (including USF) that fought for almost a year for this Div I-AA team to gain BCS status:

The only TRUST issues that were probably broken was the false words from the Big East Commish about wanting to "strengthen" the football side of the conf...while his ACTIONS were shown to be the complete opposite. (Nova...plus adding a 4th different hybrid member to the conf...football only).

When one has shown incompetence at the top...plus others stopping the conf from getting STRONGER in football...what trust is left?

RE: UofL President speaks about Big East Conference changes
If ANY of the remaining BEast schools could have been in Pitt or Cuse's place they would have done the exact same thing. I wouldn't blame them... none of us can. We've been complaining for years about the hybrid nature of the conference and lack of FB vision. I liked some of the teams in the BEast and would still like to continue in a conference with them, but I sure wouldn't hesitate to join another conference that offers stability. Not sure the Big 12 is the answer to that though. And there are no offers out there anyway. So, the rest of us need to make the best of the situation we are in even with the poor decision making and poor leadership at the conference office.
