Just to give fellow Big East fans an update on what BCS status does for a football program...

Every year Ohio/PA has what's called the "Big 33" football game which is basically an all star game of Ohio vs PA......this year UC and coach Dantonio was able to recruit 10 players (8OH and 2PA) out of these two teams. THIS IS HUGE for UC Football!!

Ohio is very fertile ground for high school football and even though UC isn't going to be able to waltz in right now and take O$U football picks from the state; they can get the "leftovers". These "leftovers" in past have gone to Mich.St., Uk, Illinois, etc. UC is now getting them. If UC can keep getting these type of players and then start to steal an O$U recruit every once in a while...UC WILL have a top 25 program within a few short years. The good news is we have already started this with the latest recruiting class!! Also, UC has a frosh. TE on this year’s team out of St. Louis MO...he was also recruited by Mizzou, MichSt., Illinois, and G-Tech. He came to UC! Again, for UC Football, this is big. They never got guys like this in the past.

Summary: UC will have a tough year this year, but if Dantonio keeps getting level of recruits and better he got this year, UC will have a solid Big East program able to get into the Top 25 any given season.

I have said it before...but UC is another Boston College waiting to happen...you guys are going to be really solid in football very soon...I just hope the UC fans support the football program and don't get caught up in the Huggins stuff or shy away because the young team doesn't win enough right away to please the media etc

Right on the money Jackson....If we could just get the point of drawing 40,000 fans per game, winning some top 25 games on national tv....going 7-4 8-3 in Big East on a consistent basis.....having a really BIG game like ND or O$U at Paul Brown Stadium in front of 67,000 fans....that would be great!!
