STORRS, Conn. --- The season ticket total for the 2005 University of Connecticut football season has surpassed 28,300 with approximately seven weeks remaining before the first home game. The season ticket total for 2003 was 24,000 while there were 28,000 season tickets in 2004, meaning that the 2005 season will mark the largest season ticket base in UConn history.

I think UConns success in such a short period of time as a DI school is phenominal. I realize a lot of it can be attributed to the fact that they are the state university of Conneticut. I expect them to continue to improve quickly along with South Florida which is also a fairly new DI school. This conference has so much potential and I think our bowl situation attest to the fact that people recognize our potential and are trying to get in on the ground floor.

Congratulations UCONN. That is very impressive. I only hope that Cincinnati can reach that level sometime in the near future.

BE hopes Cincy will get there too with their ticket sales. UCONN has to lower their price a little (highest in the BE) and expand the stadium to create a huge game day experience. Although 40K is good enough but 55K or 60K sounds better. UCONN tickets are very high and some of the best seats require people to fork over some serious donation. Regardless, I hope this year the season ticket will go over 30K. I am sure they will sell out every game. When UCONN is able to get other big time opponents, they need to expand the place.

Anyway, as an UCONN fan, I just hope they will win big on the field and go to another bowl game this year.

You have seats in your stadium that actually permit smoking. I don't think I've ever been to a sporting venue that allowed smoking in my entire life. And that's indoor or outdoor.

Is it necessary to have a Memphis fan take a shot at South Florida in every freaking thread!?
